A woman in Westchester County is facing charges that she stabbed a man who said she was ugly.

Kyeisha (Ky-EE-shuh) Fuller of Yonkers was awaiting arraignment Wednesday on charges of assault and weapon possession.
Yonkers Police Lt. Sean Mullins said Fuller, who's 23, argued on Tuesday with a guest of her roommate, and it turned violent after the "ugly" remark. She allegedly used a kitchen knife to stab him in the shoulder.

To be honest, I wouldn’t say she was ugly. Not gorgeous, but not “ugly”. I’ve seen ugly.

It's also unfortunate that things have gotten to the point where written text of what the person is saying is scrolled on the bottom of the TV screen sometimes during news reports and various interviews, but without that I would sometimes have no idea what they're saying.
I would believe there is an interesting ‘background story’ to this little criminal event. As no drug or other illicit substance charges are listed, I would guess that neither Ky-ee-sha or her disrepectful victim are strangers to the Yonkers PD. Just a hunch...but given that her mug shot was posted, I was also surprised that it took eight posts to get to the ‘guilt/not guilty’ one.
LOL - yes, I guess that happens too!
Of course, in my neck of the woods/concrete, there is no subtitling because they sure act like that’s normal in their broadcast city with both crime and “happy” stories. Us suburbanites outside the ‘hood just have to concentrate hard.

I wish that the subtitling would be done far more often. I have perfect hearing; the problem is that I have read a few books and haven’t spent my life hanging around illiterate criminal street trash. Apparently, many ‘news’ outlets feel that ‘hoodspeak’ is perfectly fine and normal, and of course everybody can understand it.......

You're most likely correct. Anybody who would ACTUALLY stab another human being over WORDS has the refinement and self-control of a hyena or a jackal, if that, and is probably a frequent flyer at the local PD.
