(Dog owners eat your heart out: doesn't work with dogs!)

New study says they (cat owners) are less likely to die of heart attack or stroke

Cat owners are less likely to die of a heart attack or stroke than people who, well, don't own cats, a new study suggests.

The study, by researchers at the University of Minnesota, found that felineless people were 30 percent to 40 percent more likely to die of cardiovascular disease than those with cats.

I ought to send them a wav of Moose walking through the house and calling me “Maawwwmmm”, LOL. Funniest thing I ever heard, except when he does it muffled while carrying his little stuffed football at the same time! :-)

Based on my experience with cats these extra years are more than offset by quality of life issues.

I have three kittens hanging around my keyboard and a cat’s foot on it. I should be doing good.

Aw, thanks for saying you guys miss me! I miss all the banter with you guys, too. But I am so preoccupied these days that I actually forgot about the show last night! Completely! Had to go to the AI thread to see who got booted.

The cats and twins had little to do with each other until the boys got mobile ... but now that one twin is walking (!!!) and one is almost walking, the cats have learned to stay just barely out of their hands most of the time. One of our cats is actually quite patient with them and will let them “waller” him around a lot, but Buster eventually loses it and spats their little hands with his paws. I keep all the claws clipped but still find tiny little scratches now and then on the boys’ hands. But it seems to me the boys approach the cats with more caution now. Also I am teaching them to pet the cats “nicely” (with an open hand, not grabbing the fur and pulling!) and they are actually getting the concept, I think. It’s an ongoing project, to say the least! LOL!

You don’t live longer.

It’s like a bad date.
It just seems longer!

remind me to get some more cats...

it's an obvious personality thing....less risky folks own kitties than say Rotts or Pits

bet that study would frown on these cats as pets

Our two cats have been allowed to stay in the house after we go to bed at times and about three AM, they want OUT.
