This weeks Sci-Fi Thread:
Thurs: 9/8 - Lost - ABC
Fri: 8/7 - The Sarah Jane Adventures - SciFi
9/8 - Dr Who - SciFi
10/9 - Battlestar Galactica - SciFi
I smell a merger for a show or three, with Sarah Jane Smith and Dr. Who. A simple overlap would be interesting given the change of appearance for the Doctor and Sarah’s aging. (She’s a pretty Lady still, though.) Did you notice the appearance and fade right at the end of the Friday PM episode? Are they working her back into the line-up? ... Gosh, I hope so!
I kind of liked it, a change of pace insofar as companions go. Both Rose and Martha seem to have a fling for the Doctor, it will be refreshing to seem some stories with a companion who is just running away from her life.
The cute little fat babies were a little annoying but maybe the Beeb wants to try to market them?
BSG was okay, in fact, when I was remembering it this morning, I thought it was better than okay, a very significant thing happened between the chief and Adama I think.
I think you are right.. To be honest I would rather have Rose than Donna...
Actually, there was a Doctor Who episode (around the middle of season 2, I believe) with Sarah Jane and K-9 in it. I forget which one exactly it was, except it had to do with a school and bat-like aliens and something about the french fries...
I missed it! But then, my cable emperors give and take away on a lark. Can’tcast is drek for service around these parts but they have a monopoly.
The actor playing Rose is really good in the Whovian adventures, kind of the way Romana was a good fit! It would be nice to get K-9 back, too.
Given the season 4 teaser trailer, I think we’ll have Rose AND Martha as well as Donna, but at least Donna seems to be not developing a crush on the Doctor. Anyways, whatever leads up to that shot of Martha (emerging from some green slimy stuff and looking very unhappy) in the teaser trailer is bound to make for a pretty interesting episode, and whatever brings Rose back from her alternate universe is gonna be good as well... I’m really looking forward to this season =)
I agree with you.. It wasn’t bad,I thought it was a decent episode.. I view this one as more of a setting up a storyline episode more than anything.
I shouldn’t have to judge an season on one episode.
What’s the word on the Sarah Connor Chronicles? Did that season get renewed?
It is coming back next season...
I don't think that they're will be a merger, but it was interesting that they used characters from the "first" season of Doctor Who.
Also, crossovers with Torchwood would have to be in current day -- and I really hate when Doctor Who is current day, I mean, what's the point? -- because Jack is a fixed point in time and the TARDIS won't carry him willingly.
I read somewhere that an episode or two were coming with ‘The Master’ involved again. Don’t know if those aired yet since my cable carrier is so messed up.
Mickey and K-9 had an interesting exchange when they were locked outside of the school and everyone else was inside. (Paraphrasing, from memory)
M: Do you have a way to get inside the building?
K9: We are in a car.
M: Yes, I know that, but do you have some sort of weapon that can break the door down?
K9: We are in a car.
M: Yes, yes, but do you have a gun or a laser or something?
K9: We are in a car.
M: Is that all you can say??? Wait a minute? We're in a car.
Yhey can't leave it where it is. Sarkassian needs to be punished for blowing up Sarah's Jeep (At least the Connor crew still has Cameron's Mercedes)
The Master was last season’s finale, although they spent some time during the season setting it up, including some scenes in present day, an episode on New, New, New .... Earth and a two-parter where the Doctor becomes human.
I believe Martha will be heading over to Torchwood now that Owen has died ... again. That’s not to say that she won’t appear with the Doctor.
