Hi Conor! :)
How are you? Thanks for the poetry. I enjoyed reading them both.

The forum does have the tendency to swallow up huge amounts of time, Jaycee, I agree.

How are gas prices in your neck of the woods? I saw $5.25 for diesel here today; regular is well over $4 buckaroos.

I’m thinking tomorrow is my day to be on line. I think it might rain. It’s been a long time on line for me. I hope it does rain. :) It’s then a good excuse. LOL

It was hot today. I have some sunburn too. Lovely day. Planted a lot. How was your trip down to Marina del Rey. Sounds like it is a nice place by the name.

Paid $4.19 for gas today. Found a less expensive place. I think it's $4.27 at other places.

Ours is right at (barely under) $4.00 and it drives me crazy!
I told one of my friends that I didn’t know which I could give up gas or food!

I think 4.37 was the lowest I saw for gas.

What did you plant, Mrs. Green Jeans?:) Wowie, sunburn!!

It’s a pretty ride down to the Marina; I enjoyed seeing what folks have blooming in their front yards. I didn’t stay down there though, just for business.

A dozen eggs from a broken family.

So funny, OESY. You have a great imagination.

Does anyone remember the expression "egghead?" That's what they used to call the brainy kids in school...

Sounds In The Night

We hear sounds in the night of work being done,
By toilers and strugglers deprived of our sun.
It is only our comfort that compels them to hide,
As we with our loved ones and treasures abide.

In darkness they toil to repair our worn roads,
Inexorable time limits act as their goads,
They sweat and curse softly the task made so vile,
By shadow enduring the whole of the while.

Deprived of the sun for the task they perform,
In making the broken things newly conform,
To a sullen onrushing of scurrilous knaves,
Turned out of their beds as if out of their graves.

The zombies of daylight come stumbling out,
As night-working elves shrink well back from the rout,
Too soon they’ll return to assess once again,
The damages done by the legions of men.

Sisyphian tasks will await the next night,
Yet they willingly come back again to the fight,
Be blessed, oh ye workers and toilers unseen,
By the sunned-upon creatures of colorful scene.

Let children’s cries and birdsong be,
The lullaby of slumber free,
From dark concerns and matters best,
Attended to after proper rest.
