Heinz is set to challenge some viewer expectations with a light-hearted TV campaign that features two men sharing a kiss.
The TV commercial, which promotes a new range of dressing called Heinz Deli Mayo, breaks tonight and will be supported by a press campaign.

“It’s only mayo.”
The ad campaign run by Mr. Ben Dover!
Heinz makes a low carb ketchup for diabetics. Anyone know a good alternative I can switch to???
Yep, WalMart house brand ketchup is really good AND they also offer a Heinz 57 knock-off that is as good as the Heinz product. Heinz products have been off my menu since Kerry’s presidential attempt.(He served in Vietnam by the way)
I dunno. I bow to no one when it comes to my hatred of the homo agenda, but I thought this was kinda funny and clearly satire. I think that this is a MEDIA created fiasco and that it was not really supposedly to be about being gay...it was about being from NY. Clearly the “mum” is supposed to be a wife, not a male partner.
I tend to agree with you. If it were about the homosexual agenda, then they would never have used the "deli" man. Clearly, this would be an offense to homosexuals, because everyone knows that homosexuals are ultra-hip, ultra-cool, and very sophisticated. Everyone "knows" this because anyone in the ultra-hip media dare not portray them in any other way.
I think it was intended for comedy while at the same time being what every ad exec aims for and that is a certain "edginess". Obviously, with the media focus that the commercial has generated, it failed as attempts at comedy so often do.
Bingo.
No Heinz product has entered our home since 2004.
And none shall enter as long as I am alive.
Heinz mayo? - That’s queer!
We’ll stick with Best Foods (Hellman’s).
Hey, why stop with a gay kiss? Why not have them wearing buttless chaps?
Its humor folks. 'Mum' via her use of Heinz products has morphed into 'a New York deli guy.' Their product (Heinz) makes her the definitive expert on sandwich making...not Brit mum anymore...she's channeling her inner deli guy (the paper hat, the white apron, the tough tawking NY accent). Its humor...not a gay lifestyle promotion. Watch it for yourselves (honest...you won't faint!)
