Here ya go. No BYJ pics will show up here!
Real men don’t need a magazine about how to be real men.
Dressing in a masculine manner is important.
Even real men experience the heartbreak of enlarged pores!
Second rule of Man Club. No Man purses.
Like I said in my Freep profile:
I have two weaknesses
Good scotch whiskey and
Bad Irish women!
Excellent advice in this article. I highly recommend as well, ‘How to Raise a Modern Day Knight’ by Robert Lewis, published, I think, by Focus on the Family.
Hubby read that, got our boys into Scouting, and became the Scout Master, starting a new troop in our church. I cannot say enough about a good man raising boys to be good men.
If you are not aware of it, I recommend “the Dangerous Book for Boys”
“Equal parts droll and gorgeous nostalgia book and heartfelt plea for a renewed sense of adventure in the lives of boys and men, Conn and Hal Iggulden’s The Dangerous Book for Boys became a mammoth bestseller in the United Kingdom in 2006. Adapted, in moderation, for American customs in this edition (cricket is gone, rugby remains; conkers are out, Navajo Code Talkers in), The Dangerous Book is a guide book for dads as well as their sons, as a reminder of lore and technique that have not yet been completely lost to the digital age. Recall the adventures of Scott of the Antarctic and the Battle of the Somme, relearn how to palm a coin, tan a skin, and, most charmingly, wrap a package in brown paper and string. The book’s ambitions are both modest and winningly optimistic: you get the sense that by learning how to place a splint or write in invisible ink, a boy might be prepared for anything, even girls (which warrant a small but wise chapter of their own). “

In the egalitarian spirit of the age, a version for girls has now been published.
Personally, I always liked the dangerous boys. Still married to one. . . . .
Pretty funny parody “Dangerous Book for Dogs”, also!
I respectfully disagree.
That is not a man-purse. It is a tactical ammo/weapons carrier. That is allowed.
This is especially true of twenty-something men.
I recently read a great book by Jack Cashill, “What is wrong with California”. Ultimately he felt that most of the state's issues (crime, urban sprawl, traffic, high cost of housing, pollution, etc) came down to disintegration of the family (fatherlessness) and lack of Christian moral values.
This issue with men and fatherlessness HAS to be fixed. Whatever politician latches on to it in a meaningful way will lockup the middle class for a long time.
schu
Aint that the truth.
good one!!!!
I read that book recently, too. (All night, during a massive allergy attack.) Lots of insightful and important observations.
OooRaah! I liked that line! I have three sons - none of whom could even be considered a touch effeminate. Lacrosse, Ice Hockey, Basketball, pounding on each other - and a very firm hand have produced three gentlemen that the girls love to be around, the mothers adore, and the fathers ask me "how did you do that?". My eldest son wants to be a Doctor, my middle son wants to attend VMI and become a Marine Officer. The youngest has Downs, but is equally "All Boy".
