It says six days, not six indeterminate periods of time.

Genesis was written in Hebrew and the word for "day" is "yowm" which means "time period".

Besides, the bible is written in parables...Jesus speaking:

Mar 4:11 And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all [these] things are done in parables:

When you read Revelation and you see phrases like "one hour with the beast", do you really think it's speaking of one literal hour?

The Bible was written for humans.

Do you reallllllly think we could understand at the level of Truth where God operates?

When your 8 year old wants to know where babies come from, how much Truth do you tell? No more than they need to know at that time, and that not in graphic terms.

The Bible walks a similar path. Enough Truth so we have a rudimentary understanding of the basics, not so much that we are overwhelmed or terrified by it.

And hopefully, like your eight year old, we’ll figure out the finer points at our own pace and as we need them.

Is it not possible to be a creationist, IOW believing that God created the heavens and the earth, AND ALSO believe that the earth is many billions of years old?

Yes. After all, how long is a day before days were established?

“Then you can be unpopular with both the atheist/evolutionist crowd AND the “New World” creationists.”

(sigh) I guess I will just have to find a way to get by being unpopular, lol.

“That is a narrow minded view.”

Actually, given the other arguments on the subject I believe my point of view to be anything BUT narrow minded.

“What makes you think we have had all truths revealed to us?”

Where did I post anything of the sort?

When you read Revelation and you see phrases like "one hour with the beast", do you really think it's speaking of one literal hour?

So Jesus arose on the third time period and not the third day? There wasn't a controversy until science proved 6 days impossible. That's when the definition broadened. For 18 hundred years yowm meant day.

I can't decide if these are Acrocanthesaurus or Iguanodon.

The ones we have in the South San Gabriel river near our home are definitely a fairly large Acrocanthesuarus or a small TRex.

I always thought those human-dinosaur tracks were done by the same group of teenagers responsible for Crop Circles. ;-)

Cheers!
