We are pleased to inform you that the word "kvell" is derived from Yiddish "kveln," meaning "to be delighted," which, in turn, comes from the Middle High German word "quellen," meaning "to well, gush, or swell." Yiddish has been a wellspring of creativity for English, giving us such delightful words as "meister" ("one who is knowledgeable about something"), "maven" ("expert"), and "shtick" ("one's special activity"), just to name a few. The date for the appearance of "kvell" in the English language is tricky to pinpoint exactly. The earliest known printed evidence for the word in an English source is found in a 1952 handbook of Jewish words and expressions, but actual usage evidence before that date remains unseen.

My favorite comment heard on the radio yesterday was that a guy who sounds like Porky Pig when the teleprompter is off should not be talking about pigs of any kind.
Now that is just not kosher.

Sounds like a great event! I want a yard sign! I have one for our congressman - I had agreed to have one in the yard and it suddenly appeared the other day! I walked past the living room and something caught my eye outside - looked almost like someone had stuck a “for sale” sign in front of the house!
I worry about Sarah’s kids - but think she and her husband have prepared them for the dirty evil liberals and their scummy mindset. I want to vomit everytime I see the Obams - but their daughters are cute little girls who don’t deserve to be attacked. The left has even attacked a precious 4 month old baby.... they truly disgust me.
the left is scared stiff.........they fear the damage to their biggest cause - abortion from both Trig and Bristol.......not to mention the women they are losing to the pubbies.....yep, they are attacking out of fear and they have lost the ability to reason
Barack Obama is not black; he is biracial, and I wonder why it pains people -- both black and white -- to say that.
It is no secret that there are many people (I am one), who do not believe in or approve of blacks and whites dating and marrying.
But that being said, Mr. Obama is a bright, up-and-coming young man who I feel deserves a chance at leading our land -- God knows, he couldn't possibly do any worse than George Bush.
If I am willing to overlook the fact that he is half white, I feel whites can and should overlook the fact that he is part black.
With this statement, this woman should be put on perma-ignore by anyone with half a brain.
So, what is the cut off for having kids and working but still being a good Mother? Obviously this woman thinks Michelle Obama can have a job and still be Mommy to two girls - so I wonder, is the cut off three kids? After that third one you can't do both? Maybe it is four? Does it matter if they all have the same Daddy? Uh oh, did that sound racist?
I love how she bragged about not missing the girls’ recitals. What mom hasn’t worked at least one recital and done all the backstage stuff that goes into those productions? And she claims to be so involved with them. I’ll bet she has never even sewn a strap to a costume.
