Mouse bites snake to death

A mouse bit a venomous viper to death after it was thrown into the snake's cage as a lunchtime snack.
The tiny rodent killed the snake after a fierce 30-minute battle, emerging with "barely a scratch on him", ...
Firefighters ... thought that the live mouse would make a perfect lunchtime treat.
But the furry creature had other ideas. Instead of cowering from the 12in snake's gaping jaws and long fangs, it went on the offensive.
Vipers are one of the most widespread species of snake in the world, and their adder sub-species is the only poisonous reptile found in the UK.

Heh, that mouse is going all Rikki-Tikki-Tavi on that snake.
Which is a good thing. I hate snakes almost as much as I hate any and every form of arachnid.

Caged snakes tend to get lazy. I’ve had friends with pet snakes and eventually you have to stop giving them live food, or this will happen.

After he finished off the viper, the mouse should have taken on the firefighters who got a perverse kick out of feeding a mouse to a viper.

I do wonder why anyone would let such a thing (throwing a live prey animal into a cage with a predator) go on for 30 minutes, and take pictures. Wasnt there a cockfighting pit they could visit?I agree. We never fed our python live mice just for this reason.
That mouse was much too big for that little snake.

I’ve had a pet rat and I’d much rather have a rat than an expensive snake. The cost of the animal does not influence me. I am glad you took the rats out.

It’s a metaphor.
Sarah Palin is the mouse and guess who the snake is?

And another thing...
Perhaps the mouse should be studied.
Few creatures survive viper venom.

Andy Kaufman was a seriosuly disturbed person
exploited by Hollywood. No surprise there.
Hollywood excels at dumbing down talent.

Apparently the viper was never able to bring its fangs to bear. The mouse never got bit.

Way too big a mouse. Not usable food for that poor little snake.

The children caught live snakes somethims. We put them in an acquarium in the summer and feed them bugs and frogs. We like watching nature at work.

Mighty Mouse to the rescue, lol.
I hunted and hunted for a picture I recently received in email. It showed some type of lizard with its mouth clamped over the mouth of a rattlesnake!
I’ll always wonder what happened when that lizard let go...!
