I disagree that we are headed towards irrelevance. We are part of a movement towards freedom, a movement that liberates individuals and gives everyone an opportunity.
We will not fail because our message is that men should be free, moral, happy, and successful. The message of liberals (although watered down) is the message of Marx - that men should hate, envy, oppress, and steal.
When I compare these messages, I cannot fathom a world in which most people would knowingly choose their message over ours. However, we live in a world where our messenger (who was a messenger of our message in title only) was defeated by charlatan who lied about and hid his message. As Reagan said to CPAC (and I am paraphrasing) Barack won because he didn’t run as a liberal. If Barack had honestly portrayed his ideas, he would have lost with much larger margins than McCain did.
Having said that, we lack a spokesperson for our message. We don’t necessarily need a Reagan, but we need someone who believes our message and isn’t afraid to spread it. Additionally, we lack people who can turn our message into solutions for our country’s problems (but I think this is related to lacking a spokesperson). While we can’t all be Reagen, we can be spokespersons in our own worlds. We have neighbors, friends, and family members who we can help see what we offer and the differences between our message and that of liberals.
Anyways, all I really wanted to say is don’t lose hope or sacrifice beliefs. Our message appeals to everything that is good in people and can/will remain viable.
Also, I agree completely that the Consitution is not the same as the Word of God, but it is and was inspired by God. In the accounts of the founders of our nation their is frequent mention that the inspiration and guidance of our Father was sought and received. We defeated a mighty superpower and internal enemies through God’s hand, and it fails reason to believe that he would, after so richly blessing our country, withhold his guidance during the drafting of the Constitution.
Having said that, the Constitution isn’t perfect, but it includes means through which it can be adabted to our needs. Although it will be amended, I don’t believe that it will be ignored - there are too many people, like you and I, who believe in the message proclaimed by the document.
Anyways, like Elisha said, “Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them.” 2 Kings 6:16.
Every time the GOP has tried to appear centrist and “find areas of common ground with a more diversified demographics” it has lost. When Republicans try to sound like Democrats they lose. Badly. Every Democrat presidential candidate has tried to appear conservative. Why? Because America is still conservative. If you look at electoral history conservatism has won every time it is given a fair hearing. We just watched the GOP try to re brand itself following the formula you laid out.
I assume this is a joke post.
How is Affirmative Action a core issue? It was never raised during this election. In fact it hasn’t been an issue in any election since Reagan-Mondale. It’s an axiomatic plank in the GOP platform that’s essentially toothless. We here Righties all the time calling for overturning Roe v Wade. Tell me where the massive outcry on the Right to overturn Affirmative Action? If it’s not going to be made a serious campaign issue (especially after Barack H. Obama’s election) then what good is it. It’s bad PR/Marketing and it simply serves to allow further unwarranted and unnecessary attacks from the warped left. Now, keeping opposition to quotas is important—but historically the black community has viewd these as two separate issues.
my two cents where the GOP needs to move to for success-—

You’re in dire need of watching this my friend.
If I were you I wouldn’t be looking into a job as a political strategist any time soon either.
I think the GOP needs to support Entrepreneurs and Cottage Industries. And the National Black Republican Association needs to be involved in the RNC, too. Martin Luther King Jr and Frederick Douglass were both Republicans!
I’d like to see the Republicans remind the Democrats that they’re the Party of Segregation, too. Stress it, push it into their faces and use the divisiveness of Obama as an example of the “New Segregation.”
I like African-American for ethnic identfication purposes. Black is fine (Although I’m reddish brown). I read Sowell and Williams. They’re entitled to their preferences (they do come from an older demographics than myself). It doesn’t really make me any difference whether my race is identified or not. But since during an election year everyone is interested in statistics-—count me in McCain’s 8 percent of Americans with slave ancestory (maybe that’s a safer term here).

I assume this is a joke reply. I’ll make a prediction.....the GOP will diversify and will win many more elections than Dems. I just hope you won’t be the opposition then.
Don't be offended if we are all NOT in agreement on some issues... and believe me, I don't agree with half your points... but FR is sorta the no spin zone... you either like us or start an opposition site...

We play rough sometimes with unpopular idea, but you learn to stick up for what you believe is right and go on.
The GOP is already the Dems.
Hi Obushma. Not liking a few of your ideas but the rest look ok...welcome. Good luck. Warning..FR is addictive.

Point taken. I’m going straight to the RNC with my ideas!!!
Thanks-—I think I’m gonna be banned if I don’t hurry and run to the right of Pat Buchanan-—tough crowd!
What do you mean by diversify? BTW are you American or African?
1)The hell with affirmative action. It’s racism pure and simple. Blacks would have gotten a lot further in the US if affirmative action had never occurred. In the end the black community is worse off, and all that we’ve done is create a tougher breed of white male.
2)Amnesty? For breaking our laws? I know a large number of Hispanics in my family, and none of them support illegal immigration. Illegal immigration hurts Blacks and Hispanics much more than whites.
3)I’ve never heard of a real Conservative opposed to real Environmentalism. Teddy Roosevelt was a great conservationist as the Governor of New York. Republicans were the original environmentalists.
4)We are the middle class!
We only win when we act like Conservatives and make ourselves heard. To paraphrase Rush, Conservatism wins every time it’s real.
Welcome to Free Republic.
Sorry, I fell asleep during the first minute of this video. I don’t see where I’m advocating Socialism but okay........
Anyway, wouldn’t want a job as a politcal consultant, but the marketing and packaging of the far right is doomed.
Let’s take an example of the left’s marketing. Obama forced a “Respect for Life Plank” in the Dem’s sorry platform. All it said was we need to find common ground to reduce abortions. Now, even an idiot knows the Dems aren’t doing away with their goal of an abortion in every pot.
But truly that was a stroke of marketing genius as the Dems cut a small swath into the rights’ evangelical vote-—probably cost us Virginia, NC, Florida and Indiana.
Whatever you call yourself, welcome aboard! It'll be an interesting journey for you and all the rest of us in the next few years...
Take a chill pill Bruci-—there’s always the Constitution Party my friend.....
