Seriously, the sad truth? It's Zapruder. Think about it...he just happens to be the only one positioned perfectly to "get the shot"?

Did you ever see the Red Dwarft episode (BritSciFiCom) where the main characters time-jump back to Earth and manage to knock Oswald out of the *Fifth* Floor window? They jump ahead three years, JFK is in jail for lying under oath about adultery, J. Edger Hoover is president, and the world is a nuke wasteland. They try jumping back to keep themselves from knocking him out of the fifth floor window by diverting Oswald to the sixth floor, where he takes the shot...and misses. They end up by time-jumping ahead a year, springing JFK from jail, and to preserve his legacy, HE takes the shot as the red-haired policeman from the Grassy Knoll...and then disappears as the timeline heals.

The trees people see now where much shorter at the time and not in the line of fire.

I also had no problem with the sight lines when I was there. The foliage was present but it was easy to see through it. So even if the trees had been there, it would not have made the shot impossible.

This is ironic. I am citing the Warren Commission experience when they went to the cite. I saw the film and the view through the tree as the car passed through in their simulation. Afterwards the city trimmed the trees back.

If it's okay, I'll believe my own lying eyes and ears.

And the Carcano that Oswald used wasn’t a piece of junk. The Germans were arming the Volkstuhrm with it in the last year of WWII.

Back in the 60s, although the Italian army had converted to the Beretta M59 7.62mm, its NATO Rifle team was still using the M1891 Carcano in competition.
