We can get Linus and the Great Pumpkin to develop a tie-breaker system based on the number of “most sincere victories.”

LOL.. Well, THAT would be a better system that what we're doing.

Not exactly meaningless. What about TTech? A 3 way tie you count head to head points and common foes. OU 147, Texas 100, TTech 67. Those numbers are pretty close.

So it does count.

Was the refusal to sell 10k tickets to keep the Riff-Raff out of town?

I guess Bradford’s downfall is he makes it look too easy?

Part of the Heisman is leadership and the Poll’s are taken into account.

If Texas had taken care of business that night, they’d be in the Big XII title game with no arguments from anyone.

Well, DUH!

If OU had BEATEN Texas in Dallas, THEY would get not gripe from me about being SELECTED for the title.

Texas lost on a last second, desperation pass on the road, and the end of an emotionally draining 4 week span of playing the top rated teams in the country.

What was OU's excuse for losing by 10 to Texas?

Ha! Our receivers are so good and are always so open that Graham never has to run. Colt runs because your two blue chip receivers have no moves.

Apparently only selling season tickets worked but if those two gals in the OU shirts pictured above didn’t make it to the game, that would be a tragedy.

Any athletic competition decided by voters rather than the players isn’t a true sport, it’s a beauty contest.

Harrell makes it work with much less talent (minus Crabtree) than Bradford and McCoy. Give us some of our blue chip recruits back across the Red River and send them out to the High Plains and we will dominate the Big 12 South.

Even my daughter, a freshman at Tech and who knows very little about football, gets it right. “But Daddy, didn’t Texas beat Oklahoma a few weeks ago?”

Holder’s idea to get season tickets sales up. So far it has worked and they sold more season tickets than ever before. It will take a few years to see if it is a good idea. Next year should be a really good year for season tickets with eight home games and what will likely be a pretty good pre-season ranking.

I hope the Land Thieves get stomped by Mizzou and are sent to the Holiday Bowl. Coach Visor’s signature headgear might actually get used in the San Diego sun.

I hate Ou Sucks more than the Democrats right now.

Puck OU!

You mentioned you felt it was disgraceful for OU to run up the score with 30 seconds left, et al.

A series of running plays, (when passing had been more successful) instead of running a 2 minute offense and passing for a touchdown isn’t running up the score. I guess you would expect them to just down the ball on each possession? But then I recall that Texas was wanting OU to win but by a small margin.

You said it was disgraceful for OU to be chosen when beaten by Texas. Using that logic then it would be disgraceful for Texas to be chosen when beaten by Texas Tech. Double bladed sword here.

You forget it was a three way tie. Texas Tech beat Texas and had as good a claim to be there as Texas. Other factors had to be considered.

Disgraceful to me is the politicking that was done to get the 45-35 to be the ONLY factor considered. But that is my perspective.

Final point. The rankings (while not perfect)identify who is best at the time the polls are taken -not 4 weeks before - all factors considered with emotions out.

Wow - at the rate you’re going, you’ll be screaming about hanging chads next.

It’s over, and no amount of bitching about it is gonna change it. Oklahoma is going to the Big XII championship game, and if they win, to the BCS Title game. And it will be a good game.

Texas can have the Fiesta against Utah or somebody.

Better luck next year.

Texas leads the all-time series 58–40–5, with a 45–36–4 edge in Dallas.

Question....Gators whup Bama next week, and Sooners bury Mizzou. Texas sits at home.Any possibilty that the Gators will NOT be able to jump to the #2 BCS spot...Everyone says that the SEC winner goes to the title game..but looking at the polls, and how they're constituted..I'm not sure if it's automatice for Florida.

BTW..the idiots/geniuses behind the BCS really should THANK Iowa for beating Penn State. Can you image the mess we'd have now if we had Penn State, undefeated, and the Big 10 champ..on the outside looking in...only thing worse, would be if they played in the championship game, and lost by about 35 points.

Since we're dealing with so many computer programs, all one can do is sit back and see what goes down.

Predictions I've seen have Texas playing the loser of the SEC championship game. (Probably the Sugar Bowl)

With 2 minutes to go.. I agree.

But, with 30 seconds to go, and no timeout being called, taking a knee would have been the appropriate thing to do. Had OSU called a timeout, Hell yes... step back and throw it to the end zone.... but, they weren't. They'd conceded the game.

It's the same thing Urban Meyer did against Miami. I guess, the case can be made that "the system" forces such class-less pay... because, hey! Look! It worked. People are on here crowing about a "20-point victory".

But, I still think it is exceedingly poor sportsmanship.

I don’t know what your problem is - we won, get over it.

Who says I have a problem with the TT v UT game? Good grief ... all I was talking about was the broken system called the BCS. Quality wins do mean something and that's probably what moved OU past UT. A win over OSU in Stillwater is worth more than a win over the remnant of what used to be the Ags in Austin.
