Condi kicks Bush to curb ** vanity **

Posted on 12/08/2008 4:09:31 PM PST by Mogwai

Condi was just on CNN with Wolf Blitzer. At the end of her response to his question of what she thought about Obama's election, she said "The American people are wise to want change. Two terms is enough." Wow, no one digs a horn into an embattled president's back like a rampaging RINO. How nasty and disloyal of her.

She is one of the reasons some conservatives stayed home. I cannot believe that Bush pushed Powell out of State for her.

Did I hear correctly that she is going to play the piano for the 0bama’s during the coronation ceremonies that are to run for four days? Wonder if they will all wear ermine?

I found myself behind her briefly, but that was back when I still trusted George Bush's judgment. Way back.

She now stands revealed as just another insipid opportunistic race-monger. You can take Willie Mae Token out of Stanford but...

Since both McCain and Obama campaigned on a “change” platform, her comment sounds more an endorsement of our democratic system of voting for President, and requiring a new one at least every 8 years, than a criticism of Bush or McCain.

I would bet she voted for him too and based on skin color. She said something on an interview a week or so ago that gave a hint to that..something to the effect that it is now wonderful that America is ready for a black to hold the office of President..or words to that effect. Maybe someone out there in posting land can enlighten more on this.

http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0812/07/le.01.html

The Exchange:

BLITZER: You have confidence in this new national security team that Barack Obama is putting together?

RICE: They’re all people I know and they are all people of substance. And the most important thing is that they are all people who are going to have the fundamental interests and values of the United States at the core of what they do.

BLITZER: I know you were watching when we reported that Barack Obama would become the 44th president of the United States. What went through your mind as you saw that dramatic historic moment in the United States?

RICE: Well, I’ll tell you, from — a kid from Birmingham, Alabama — in segregated Birmingham, Alabama, it was quite a moment. It means this country has come an enormous distance.

It means that the United States of America is what it claims to be, which is a place of opportunity for all. I don’t think, by the way, that we’re still color-blind. It’s remarkable that we have an African-American president. We’ve had back-to-back African-American secretaries of state. We have African-American heads of major corporations.

But still, we see race and that’s fine. But increasingly we don’t see race as all-defining, of who one is and what one can be. As long as we pay attention to opportunity — to making educational opportunities available, which is really what got me to where I am and I think President-elect Obama would tell you the same thing.

BLITZER: So if he asks you for some help...

RICE: I think we’ll do — I think America will do all right.

BLITZER: But if he asks you for some help, would you be more than happy to help him?

RICE: Well, he is not going to need my help. He has got plenty of help. But of course, he is someone that I admire. He was on my committee, the Foreign Relations Committee. We have talked a number of times. He is going to do very well for the country.

But eight years is a long time. The American people are wise in wanting change. Two terms is plenty. And I’m going to go back to California and on to other things.

BLITZER: Good luck to you.

Very callous of her. But, though I voted for Bush twice, eight years ago America really was a more hopeful, optimistic place.

I'm not looking forward to Obama, yet at the same time I am very happy to see Bush go.

Eight years of his "compassionate conservatism" crap, which was neither compassionate nor conservative, has been enough to last me for a lifetime.

This wasn't a testament about Bush's term it was in answer to a question from Blitzer about her possible response to an offer from Obama. The "The American people are wise in wanting change. Two terms is plenty." remark was clearly about her seeing herself better off outside of the new administration.

I challenge anyone to point to one policy that she’s supported that is even remotely conservative or even libertarian in principle.

She's excellent on 2nd Amendment rights. Her father was a civil rights worker, and several times fought off night-riding Klansmen with a shotgun.

Correct but that doesn’t keep the MSM and trolls from portraying it otherwise....... Thatg’s exactly why I posted the entire exchange in context. There was much more to the interview that just the short blurp about her and Obama.

From that transcript, it strikes me that she was talking about her position or about 2 terms in general, NOT President Bush at all. Looks to me as though the newbie took the comment out of context.

I think Bush knows about all of these apparent turncoats. Remember the forum. Who's watching these media networks? They're all Bush haters anyway. I think President Bush has told his staffers "say what you have to to get out of additional unnecessary scrutiny". I don't buy it for a second. Look at Eclair. Any half researching American has to suspect his Marxist leanings, yet he comes out Sunday morning sounding like a conservative. What gives? He's trying to get conservatives to trust the media. Everyone now is just openly lying to the MSM dundeeheads now because they know that no one's listening to them.

Is a troll amendment to the title appropriate here? Ms. Rice’s comments were taken totally out of context, as can be seen in post #29.

More race-based pandering

I think that’s what it is. They care more about their race than about their Freedom and their Nation.

Rice is an over-rated academic and a major failure at State. She accomplished absolutely nothing in eight years, but she did have a snazzy wardrobe.
