Off the rails is right!
Two DUIs is very serious in today’s military. At least he will get representation at his court martial.
militarycorruption.com?
Segreant-Major = Sergeant-Major
It's not good for you, but say you were just a few months from retirement, and discovery of your "disability" might well result in loss of time needed to get a better retirement, you might well seek folk remedies.
If he'd been doing a lot of drinking prior to this he'd had earlier DUIs and been busted out much sooner. That's why I think it was an effort to beat the retirement game.
All he'd need to have done was see a private doctor and get some prescriptions for glucophage or other medicine that would help get his blood sugar levels down. He'd had a good A1C at his terminal physical and no one would be the wiser.
Worse, though, he may be on course to develop Type I, so he's gambling with his life. Least of his worries is a courtmartial.
They blew the whistle on several attempts by the Military to pull some fast ones.
They've been very successful, and hopefully will continue to be so..
Sounds to me like someone is out to get him, and he gave them the ammo to do it with.
There isn’t a grade in the military that I respect more, than that of a Sergeant Major. I’ve known a few bad and corrupt First Sergeants, but I’ve never even heard of a bad or corrupt Sergeant Major.
I’m going to watch this one.
This Marines problem aside, facts or not ...... why is it I smell cow crap from that web site ........military corruption dot com seems a wee bit on the suspicious side . Their “about us” page has my BS meter pinging.
Merry New Year RR !!
Yep. The days of sweeping DUIs under the rug are over. In today's military, you are pretty much allowed one alcohol-related incident, go to rehab and then don't ever get a second one. A second alcohol-related incident is a career-ender. To be fair, one alcohol-related mulligan is more than you'll get in many civilian jobs.
My money says he'll get busted down to E-8 and allowed to retire with full benefits.
I had an E-6 get a dui driving home from his retirement party. He faced a reduction in rank (and retirement pay) literally days before his ETS date. His hearing was non-judicial....all up to the Brigade Commander. I knew this SSG hardly ever drank - and this was just one stupid mistake. I told this to the Colonel; and, he decided not to do a reduction in rank.
This E-9???? I think his problem was lying to the police. I assume two dui’s wouldn’t merit a court martial. The court martial, and possibility of extended jail time has to be for the other charges. Tragic - but, he gets E-9 pay to make good decisions.
With nearly six years in the navy so far, one thing I've learned is stupidity exists in all pay grades. I've seen O-5s and E-9s get in trouble for crap that even E-1s straight outta boot know better than to do.
My question ... how did this guy make it this far? The corps should have caught him a long time ago and halted his advancement.
tragic end to a great career
Speaking from personal experience...Some people have guardian Angels, you can't bust them no matter what. Looks likes he has lost his.
Than Q. ;-)
Go the the site and search for the story on that Air Force female Poster Child Marathoner -MAJ JILL METZGER - who MilitaryCorruption.com believes lied about being kidnapped in KYRGYZSTAN to cover up a abortion needed as the result of an adulterous affair... Much of MilitaryCorruption.com's info comes from "insiders" -- well placed "insiders"..
Yet - after filing a false report, being AWOL, an adulterous affair, etc, etc, she is collecting a full pension as 100% “disabled” suffering from Post Traumatic Stress! Yet - she has NEVER been near a shot fired in anger.
Oh, I forgot to add - this bitch has run two marathons, since being declared 100% “disabled”... This, while veterans with lost limbs, blind, brains scrambled — get sqat shit zero.
The bitch must have many Air Force “stars” by the balls and they are dancing to her tune......
It's about to blow - and I'm looking forward to it...
Merry New Year to you also....
