Atlanta at Arizona (pk) Saturday January 3rd, 2009 NBC 4:30pm EST
Indianapolis at San Diego (+1) Saturday January 3rd, 2009 NBC 8:00pm EST
Baltimore at Miami (+3) Sunday January 4th, 2009 CBS, 1pm EST
Philadelphia at Minnesota (+3) Sunday January 4th, 2009 FOX, 4pm EST
Wow,what a meltdown by the Colts. They fold late in the game and just gave the game away in OT.
I guess my prediction of the Eagles vs Colts SB is way off, LOL.
I suck at picking the games, 0-2 today.
colts struck by bolts
That was mentioned on NBC. I wonder if a reporter will ask him about that.
That's why they play the games. Are you listening NCAA?!
Now I'll predict Giants vs. Titans.
Chargers peaking at the right time ... for once. Sproles is da man tonight. Hope LT gets healthy enough to contribute next week.
The road teams were favored in all four games this weekend, but you knew there’s no way home team loses all four games. Home field is just too much of an advantage in this league.
I am not a gambler but homefield advantage is a real factor and you should never discount it. Not sure what it is across all sports but its around 60% or more games are won by the home team. That is a decided edge however you slice it. When I saw the predictions of most saying the visitors would win all the games this weekend I felt they had a very good chance of being wrong.
Warner should have been league MVP, not Manning, who is a media darling who almost always fails to win big games.
*************SAN DIEGO***********
All right the Indy Colts are out of the playoffs...MVP stays home .....one and done....whoooooooooooooooo
I want the NY Giants to win the second in a row SB come Feb. 1st!!!!
Go Chargers take out the Titans or the Steelers next week...
It played out exactly like he said. Defense needs to make plays. They had the Chargers and 3rd and 11 and let them convert, they forced a fumble and failed to recover, and had them at 3rd and 8 and gave it away with a hold. The defense had their chances and failed.
Both Atlanta and Indy had better records than the hosts...most experts picked them like you did. Tomorrow Baltimore and Miami have the same records. Except for the tie Philly had they are the same with the Vikes as well. Even so....both visitors are favored again.
Great ending to the game. My new team, the Fighting Norv’s, played their butts off and eliminated maybe the toughest team they’ll have to play on their way to the Super Bowl!!! But that offensive line needs to step it up big time or they could have some trouble reaching their goal.
I suspect eventually the NFL will institute a rule that the team with the better record gets the home field advantage in the Wild Card Round.
Well, if it’s any consolation to you, my hot picks have a consistent, predictable track record of being wrong. Just recently I picked Bowl winners in Texas Tech, Alabama, and TCU, and even the Dallas Cowboys to make the playoffs! But that won’t stop me...
I doubt it. If they did something like that they’d have to turn the post season into an open tournament, ignoring all division and conference boundaries. The benefit of winning your division is a guaranteed home playoff game, if you give it to a wild card team with a better record you’ve invalidated the whole divisional structure, if they can’t get a home game then why should they even be in the playoffs. And way too many cross divisional rivalries have been made in the playoffs (like Chargers Colts, and Colts Pats) thanks to this structure, rivalries are good money, open tournament would make it almost impossible for teams to meet repeatedly in the playoffs.
