Those are the main reasons why I like it.. I also have a bit of Jayne in me...
Thanks KevinDavis.I’ll check it out. Will come on in 12 minutes here:)
Talk about your SciFi retrospective... I just watched (for the nth time) my favorite Christmas SciFi show / episode - “Space:Above and Beyond” - “The River of Stars” Ep:12 12/17/1995 - The 58th in enemy territory in a disabled spacecraft. Their CO send them the audio for Apollo 8 and they discuss their doubts and faith. EXCELLENT apologia of Christmas and Christian Faith. Even in 1995 I was SHOCKED amd UPLIFTED at the explicit message and have gotten the DVD set to watch every Christmas season.
That was a good show too.. As usual Fox fracks it up..
Some day Adam (I’m not a Baldwin brother)Baldwin, will star in the movie version of my novel....Please, please, please!
All the Firefly shows are on Hulu.....Jewel Staite is fine.
Btw BSG is a great sci-fi show if you can put up with the Gaius Baltar character. Commander Adama to Commander Zero—”he’s a CYLON!! Flush em out the airlock”
I thought this was a Seinfeld thread.
Old Cain was a great character. The new one pretty good too.
On TCM today was a movie called Mystery Street with a young Khan (Ricardo himself). It was a very good movie. Apparently there is a DVD too.
Yep, Summer is a hottie as is Lena...As for Star Trek, here’s my critique from best (1) to worst(5). And, let’s face it, even Next Generation was getting bad in the last couple of years.
1. Star Trek: the original series
2. Star Next The Next Generation
3. Star Trek: Enterprise
4. Star Trek: Deep Space Nine
5. Star Trek: Voyager
To quote Andrew from Buffy: “I’m talking bad...I mean Star Trek Voyager bad!”
That was the worst series ever!! How about a series about Klingons or why don’t they just give us what we want: a Star Trek series that is a little rougher with tons of space battles, Klingons, and hot green women.
“Is Sanctuary worth watching?”
That depends. The easiest way to answer this question is with another question: Did you like Torchwood, or would you have liked it if it was more ‘family-friendly’?
It’s pretty similar - campy, with unoriginal plot lines and overdone special effects, but usually lots of fun. A quick guide: Folding Man (if you’re an X-Files fan, watch the first couple minutes for a laugh - you know the rest of the plot) and Warriors ought to be avoided, and you won’t miss anything. To be fair, Kush and Requiem are better episodes. And, last but not least, the latest episode that’s up on Hulu.com is an unexpectedly enjoyable homage/spoof of Cloverfield.
The last couple seasons on TNG were pretty awful. Enterprise was a big let down. Voyager was hard to watch and I was willing to give Mrs. Columbo a chance.
Why SciFi will spend their money making countless D-Movies(they do not even come close to a B rating) and not on shows like Firefly and Farscape is beyond me.
ST Voyager — SevenOfNine.
Ping list add please! I’m another one that watches and re watches Firefly and Serenity. I love Jayne (which is also my name, with that spelling) but Cap’n Reynolds (Cap’n Tight Pants) makes me weak in the knees. I’m trying to pick a favorite line, but there are just too many. I will say that “Shindig” is my favorite episode.
I hate Captain Janeway.
but the original had a couple of Bond chicks..
