Too bad Ponce de Leon didn't live in 21st century New York City. He may not have found the Fountain of Youth, but he would have at least gotten a book deal.
It seems that every time a Baby Boomer finds a gray hair, another tome is written promising to teach people how to stave off the effects of aging. This year, dozens of self-help titles are set to hit the shelves, all offering tips to extending youth.

I know people who long for immortality but cannot figure out what to do on a rainy Sunday afternoon.

The good news is we may live to 120. The bad news is the government will increase the retirement age to 95 to help save Social Security.

I always find it amazing that people want to live forever. Bitch about how stuff keeps going to hell. Keep paying more and more taxes. Watch moral standards continue to drop. Have more and more things be labeled ‘crimes’ that used to be legal, watching more and more freedoms be lost and more restrictions put in place.
AFTER we’re resurrected and Christ comes back, THAT is when you should want to live forever. Perfect justice, perfect peace. And we’ll be doing things we cannot even imagine yet.

I was reading today and came across this:
Genesis 6:3
"Then the LORD said, "My Spirit will not contend with man forever, for he is mortal; his days will be a hundred and twenty years."

I am not sure that we want to live to be 120 the way society is disintegrating, and because there is a better life after this one. That being said, I would be quite skeptic about the drug promoted in this article. I am 50 and look and feel about 35. I noticed that one thing which ages folks the most is drug use - whether it is illegal or physician prescribed. Our kidneys are not designed to filter all those pharmaceuticals. The end of this article gives the best advice: to have a healthy spiritual life, to keep the weight you had in high school, to eat in moderation from all the food groups, and to get good sleep. By the way, the youngest octogenarians I know are all gardeners.

From first blush, I'd say the Psalmist is relating the age of what folks usually live to - 70 - 80.
The language in Genesis appears to be more definite.

As I recall, in Aldous Huxley’s “After Many a Summer Dies the Swan,” the method was to eat a lot of raw carp gut. You end up, however, smelling bad and not being very sociable.
