WASHINGTON The ocean's delicate acid balance may be getting help from an unexpected source, fish poop. The increase in carbon dioxide in the atmosphere not only drives global warming, but also raises the amount of CO2 dissolved in ocean water, tending to make it more acid, potentially a threat to sea life.

“Never drink the water, fish ...”
They are just full of it.
Oceans...great litter boxes under water.
“The increase in carbon dioxide in the atmosphere not only drives global warming, but also raises the amount of CO2 dissolved in ocean water, tending to make it more acid, potentially a threat to sea life.”
Oh, for Pete’s Sake. The freakin’ Ocean once covered nearly the entire Earth. We’re lucky she pulled back a little to make some room for us.
She’ll tend to herself long after we’re gone. Yeesh! The ARROGANCE of these ‘Greenwits’ is endless!
Here in central Florida, it's going down to 19 degrees tonight, and 14 tomorrow night. It'll be in the low fifties in the day and low thirties at night until the middle of next week!
No wonder they changed it from "Global Warming" to "Climate Change" - that way, they'll always be "correct"!
Must be an incredibly slow news day . . .
Sea kitten poop helps balance ocean's acid levels ..."?
What a ridiculous statement!
Phyto plankton require dissolved CO2 to survive, and a large percentage of the rest of life in the ocean requires the phyto plankton to survive.
Save the world: Join Morons for Global Warming.
Ive spent the last week clearing inches upon inches of global warming from my driveway on a daily basis, and now the temp is all the way up to 2 degrees. Algore, save us!!!
I don't think this is true. If the water temperature remains constant it will absorb whatever CO2 is presented to it until it can absorb no more. (I.e., the water is saturated with CO2.) Since there still is CO2 in the atmosphere I think the ocean has absorbed as much as it can. If the temperature of the water goes up it will release CO2; if it goes down it will absorb CO2.

Did you also know that cold water stores more CO2 than warm water? Yep sure does, just pop open that bottle of coke in the fridge, the bubbles, that's the benign not a pollutant gas CO2 -- Yes you drink it and burp it out. So you still think it is a pollutant? The SC does, the EAP does, but do you?
Did you know that heat absorption of CO2 is logarithmic, yes that the old paint a window pane with multiple coats of white paint trick and still the light gets through. So it's impossible to trap more heat than the sun gives out in the spectrum that can be absorbed by CO2. Imagine that.
And did you know we have already crossed the threshold of atmospheric CO2 concentration, that doubling, quadrupling the levels would have virtually no effect? Bet you didn't know that one.
Did you also know that ozone is created by the sun, and destroyed by the sun? And the scientists who originally proposed the CFC-Ozone hoax have recanted it? Yep it's true, when they actually ran the experiments in their labs for a recent re-look, they found they were totally wrong with their original conclusions. When asked why hadn't they ran the experiments sooner, like when they started the hoax, they said only that they didn't think it was necessary.
Did you know that Rachael Carson book, “A Silent Spring” has been entirely debunked and the World Health Organization has now approved DDT for use again after trying for thirty years to prove it is harmful to the environment and coming up empty handed? Yep, DDT does not kill the baby Eagles by thinning their shells. Who new Rachael Carson was a liar.
It's amazing what one can figure out with a base science education. Something obviously missing from the AP staff.
Let’s dump millions of gallons of Kaopectate in the ocean.
Fish poop, must be what the AP had for lunch. The quantity of fish poop would be quite small compared to the size of the ocean, else we would all complain about the fish poop when we went to the beach. Quack science.
Duh. (I guess you have trouble reading?)

No I saw what you said, I just added my stuff to it. Is that a problem? Didn’t mean for it to sound negative or anything.
I did think I said it clearer though ^_^
Sounds like what I was taught in science classes from grade school to university. Then again, I was awake in class and always took notes...
