The media can better sensationalize a story when they call a weapon used in a shooting an “AK-47”. Just like how all dogs that hurt people are “Pit Bulls”.

Agree about the rocks. I’m not sure about the Mayor. I don’t think that’s what the Mayor means. I think what he means to saw is that using military weapons in an American city is incongruous: they should not belong, they don’t fit, and there should be no need for their use downtown.”
I don’t think anyone would disagree with that.
Problem is where the Mayor’s observation is going to logically lead as a conclusion; “these weapons should be banned.”
I don’t think anyone would agree with that — at least not on the FRee Republic. It is the wrong conclusion. But it does raise an interesting question:
“What is the right conclusion?”
So with the rat’s controlling the house and senate will they tell the media to blow this story up so they can send some anti gun legislation up to 0bama?

In the attached CNN video with the article, the police chief is asking Obama to ban assault weapons again.

No and I am sure the shooter had a record and was either on parole or out on bail. And I wouldn't doubt some of the people shoot were as well.
Chest pounding on CNN. They are mentioning what the current administration is going to do about this and mention Biden wrote the old AWB.
How about keeping in jail those "soldiers" of this "war" because without the "soldier" there ain't no "war"? And how about not giving sanctuary to illegals that commit these crimes? Oh whatever.
Miami? I would bet that he’s an illegal alien and/or a drug dealer and that HE is what doesn’t belong on American streets. This isn’t about an assault weapon, this about a criminal who obviously has no respect for the law anyways. and if it was true AK-47 or if he was an alien or a felon, he acquired it through the illegal black market anyways so no existing law would have interfered with the purchase let alone a new law.

Watched a show on TV yesterday about the 10 most influencing weapons of all time. AK47 was one, over 100 million have been made. Any third world boy, thug terrorist has one. And, we are to make absolutely sure that a law-biding citizen of this country has nothing to defend himself with against these?
These are the weapons that the citizens of this country will need to crush Obama's coming "Internal Security Force". Make no mistake about it: like the SA and SS, this force will consist of the scum of the Leader's followers, with loyalty only to the Leader.

The bolt action Remington 700 is a weapon of war too. So are Remington, Winchester, Ithaca and Mossburg shotguns. It’s not the weapon, it’s the person using the weapon.
