When that show was actually running, I didn’t care for it. I couldn’t understand why they were all talking so funny. Then I got a little older and realized people from different parts of the country had accents...and this was one of them. By the time I got that figured out, the show was reruns.
That’s funny, that was my solution to the problem as well. Subsonic rounds and everyone looking at the middle eastern people on the flight the whole darn time.

When Flash Jr. 1.0 was born the hospital gave us a package of five videocassetes on child rearing which were from “First Five California”.
Having nothing to do when I arrived back home while Mrs. Flash was resting at the hospital, I popped the first one in the VCR, to see what it had to say. My immediate reaction, “Holy @#$#, it’s the #@!#ing Meathead. What his he doing trying to tell me anything?”
And that was the end of that.

Both of my grandfathers used to watch Archie and say “He’s right, ya know”.”
Carol O’Connor MADE that show. Edith (another flaming lib)was great too.

Norman Lear was the Writer/Producer. I never heard that meathead did any writing for the show.
Meathead was a mooch who, through most of the series, lived under Bunker’s roof, ate his food, openly fondeled his daughter, then ranted and raved against Archies’ politics. A true liberal!

He was, but he also was pro-gun. After his drug addicted son committed suicide by shooting himseelf, Carol O’Connor gave a televised interview in which the interviewer tried to get him to blame the gun for his sons death, but he wasnt having any of that. He insisted that it was the drugs that ruined and took his sons life.

His son committed suicide so that may have been the turning point. I heard him speak about it on, I think, the 700 Club.

I liked him best in ‘Kelly’s Heroes’ he was great! I never watched All in the Family
Maybe so, but at least he was a Democrat back when they were still loyal to this country.
Yep. That’s true. My stepfather was a Democrat for years. A loyal military democrat. Now that they are “turning communist” as he said, he’s changed to Republicans.
