Anyone know how to remove Google toolbar from a Mac?
Posted on 03/12/2009 5:25:19 AM PDT by 1rudeboy
I don't even remember installing it. In any case, I didn't install it, no one saw me install it, and you can't prove I installed it. I just want it gone.
Mac OS X Version 10.5.6
Safari Version 3.2.1 (5525.27.1)

Don’t blame me, it’s a loaner. What’s the big deal about Macs, anyway?

I recommend a 12 gauge shot-gun. 0-0 Buck loads work best for this type of thing, but anything larger than #4 Shot should work fine.

1. Place it in the oven on 350 for 4 hours.
2. Lay it in your driveway and back over it with your car.
Let us know if that got rid of the problem.

Honestly tho, I don't have any advice. I'm just watching this thread to find out how to remove it. I mysteriously ended up with a google tool bar once and how I got rid of it remains a mystery too.......
It wasn't my cat either because she can't type, she's all paws........

I’m going to pass on the obligatory jokes about Macs, you want help. I know nothing about Macs, however I would suggest that you look into the possibility of ‘rolling back’ your Mac time and date wise to perhaps a month ago, if your Mac has such a feature (I would be surprised if it did not).
I did a quick Google search on ‘remove toolbar’ specifically for Apple/Mac but found little that would be useful to you.
If you have the equivalent of a control panel on your Mac, I would start there and look for applications (toolbar programs) that you did not install, and try that.
I’d suggest backing up your critical data first, just in case you have an ‘ahhh shit’ moment.
Good luck!

I recommend a 12 gauge shot-gun. 0-0 Buck loads work best for this type of thing, but anything larger than #4 Shot should work fine. depends on the range...up to 100 yds 00 buck reins supreme, but if you limit shooting your MAC to 40 yds then #4 shot will do quite nicely...and your can even use #9 dove and quail loads (affectionately known by me and my shooting buddies as Worm and Frog load) if you put the end of the barrel right up against Mr. Mac.
Good Hunting.

Apple + Google = communism. You must have the google toolbar even if you don’t want it. It is there for you and for the greater good of anyone else who happens to need to use your PC for searches in the future.

How about going to the apple website or finding a mac site for mac geeks and asking them? I'll bet there are tons of those. I'm a MAC guy but can't help you with your problem. My mac never fails me and never crashes and never gets a virus....so I guess the PC crowd must be jealous. My SOLE complaint about macs is the lack of games and the length of time it takes to port a game over to a mac version when it (the game -- like BF2142) becomes obscenely popular.
