If your email address is [first initial] + [last name] + @ + [email provider's name] + .com you probably do.

Throw in some numbers or random letters and you'll get a lot less of that spam.

Provided you never post your email address online.

If you wish to start over from scratch...you must do three things.

1.) Backup or copy off all your personal data (usually in My Documents)

2.) Find a friend who has the WinXP disk to reinstall your particular flavor of XP...Home or Pro.

3.) Download a program called Insane KeyFinder. Run the Keyfinder then once you have written down the 25 digit Windows XP license key...use the XP install disk to format the drive and reinstall Windows XP. To activate, you will likely need to make a phone call to Microsoft to activate. After that, re-installation of all your programs and data will be necessary.

You have probably received this advise from previous posters. Sorry if this is a reiteration.

And I'm sure we're all glad that you're glad.

Personally, I'm amazed it took 62 posts for a Mac person to show up to post some useless taunting on this thread.

Penis enlargement is big business.

...for small customers...

Since yesterday I have done a Windows Defender scan, two or three malwarebytes malware scans, a superspyware scan (maybe two), a bunch of glary Utilies scans (they take 3 minutes), a zonealarm scan, an Avast antivirus scan, a ESET antivirus scan and a BitDefender antivirus scan, my spyware blaster runs in the background but doesn’t have a scan feature.

I only do deep scans of course. I told you I scan a lot.

Thanks everybody.

Malwarebytes did it (so far anyway, thought I was rid of it before and it came back). Adware and SuperAntiSpyWare previously could identify it but apparently not do anyting about it. I couln’t get to Malwarebyes.org directly. I had to Remote Desktop into work and get it there first. I can now download the McAfee free comcast version, but it still fails on install. Maybe it’s just junk.

Sounds very similar to what I had. Wouldn't let me go to real anti-malware sites. Ended up having to use a proxy server to get there and download the program. I almost had to reformat my hard drive. The whole time, it was blasting audio, telling me about great travel offers. What a nightmare. Anyway, I'm glad yours is fixed (hopefully for good.)

If it re-installs itself on bootup, you can try doing a search for all files created on the day of infection and then delete them one by one if they are related to the infection. I have to do this occasionally when the infection is particularly nasty.

Men must really love their penises to devote so much time, money and resources to maintain their little friends.
