Mel Gibson may soon be writing one of the biggest checks of his life — to his wife.
With no indication that the estranged couple — who married 28 years ago — had a prenup, Robyn Gibson, 53, is legally entitled in their divorce to half of everything the actor-director-producer earned from their marriage in 1980 to the date of their legal separation: A fortune estimated at close to $1 billion.

Mad Maxx had guts and courage to persevere, but it appears Mel is a marriage quitter.

I don’t know about his new girlfriend, but with 1/2 $B, his soon to be ex-wife is looking pretty good to me - and I haven’t even seen her!

This is so sad, but it seems that once crazy, always crazy, and Mel Gibson has certainly been crazy all his life.
doesn’t mean that the marriage wasn’t solid...lots of solid guys go through mid life crises...
But he is an on and off alcoholic, and may have bipolar or other problems, so his wife deserves half of his money for putting up with his bad times...
and I say that even though I love Mel’s work and pray for him.
