I saw the northern lights from Connecticut about 15 years ago.

Really cool to see them move

Lord they are beautiful. You are lucky. It’s something I’ve always wanted to see.

I grew up in SW Minnesota and we always saw them in the summer.....they were a fact of summer life for me

I have not lived in or been back to MN for years, I really miss seeing them....they are an incredible site....

Thanks for dredging up old but pleasant memories......

Nice pics! I grew up in Minnesota and got to see a few good light shows as a kid.. and a few years ago, watched some decent ones off the rear end of a cruise ship headed down the Alaska coast line.

Well, many years ago, I saw them in Portland, Oregon. It was a surprise to me, to see them there, and I had never before that (and never since). It wasn’t announced on the news or anything (saying that they would be seen). I just happened to be out at night and saw them. If I had not already known what they were like from seeing pictures and videos, I might have really wondered what they were. It was very, very strange looking in real life.
