The intensity of the smile holds the secret to a happy marriage or divorce: Getting married is a giant leap of faith, it has often been said, whose outcome no one can determine. Working until now under the only time will tell principle, marriage has just become much simpler, with scientists revealing in a new study that the answer to whether it will end in divorce or not is to be found in childhood pictures of both members.
After analyzing the cases of 650 adults and the pictures these provided from their childhood, researchers at the DePauw University in Indiana determined that those with the brightest smile were also those most likely to have a happy marriage. Oppositely, those who did not look at the camera or whose smiles were not genuine had more chances of getting divorced. The conclusion was reached after comparing the number of people who smiled the most in photos with the rate of divorce among the 650 adults.
The sheer stupidity of this study suggests that it was paid for by an earmark.
For me, the big question is whether Obama's smile is sincere [in which case he's just a blithering idiot] or whether it's forced [in which case he's a little more duplicitous].
Personally, I tend to lean towards the idea that Obama is simply a blithering idiot.
RESEARCH FAIL
It's not your fault. You don't have to try so hard to keep it together. You were destined to fail. Just look at your baby pictures. The writing was on the wall. /sarc
Praise God that Jesus Christ has already given us victory over this evil.
Toothy Gleam ping!
I hope DePauw didn’t get a government grant for that bit of nonsense. There are so many flaws in their method, at least as explained in the article, that I don’t know where to begin.
Speaking of which, didn’t women find Mr. Bundy (Ted, not Al) to be a charming man?
I’m one of those people who don’t smile much. Just don’t and never did. However, it oesn’t mean I’m not happy or satisified—just don’t feel a need to advertise my emotions. It never ceases to amaze me how uncomfortable that makes certain people. About 4-5X per year, someone comments on it. I have actually had people get angry at me for now smiling. I used to be concerned, now I’m just amused. Frankly, people who walk around with a smile pasted on their face gives me the creeps.
And....I’ve been married for 23 years.
Numberous typos corrected:

LOL!
I honestly think that Obama might be so stupid that the doesn't realize what he's doing.
I always had bad teeth- so bad I was the poster child for a redneck, so didn’t smile in photos. I would have fooled these researchers since I have been married almost 30 years. I smile now in photos, since I have had my problem teeth taken care of.
and this one 'in protest' ...
I have never seen more dour faces than in most of my old family photos of ancestors- even the children yet nearly all were married for their entire adult life.
