A note hidden in a bottle by Auschwitz prisoners 65 years ago in a desperate attempt to preserve a small piece of themselves was added Wednesday to the archives of the Polish state-run museum dedicated to the memory of the former Nazi death camp's victims. Museum Director Piotr Cywinski hailed the document — a list of the names of seven camp inmates that was discovered last month — as a rare discovery and a cause for celebration, given that at least three of the prisoners are still living today.

In this April 28, 2009 file photo, the remains of a bottle, top, and a note carrying the details of seven young people who were prisoners of the notorious Nazi-German Auschwitz concentration camp is seen on display in Oswiecim, Poland. A note hidden in a bottle by Auschwitz prisoners 65 years ago in a desperate attempt to preserve a small piece of themselves was added Wednesday, May 6, 2009, to the archives of the Polish state-run museum dedicated to the memory of the former Nazi death camp's victims.
wow some of them survived? and to see this item found. just unimaginable really.
prayers for all the victims. Lord help against such evil.
I think Vicktor Frankl mentioned doing something like this that helped him survived while the others who gave up died. Just horrible...
“... but also non-Jewish Poles, Gypsies and others died in Auschwitz-Birkenau’s gas chambers...”
To include Roman Catholic priests who took in Jewish children and later on were fingered...some probably by György Schwartz.
“Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet believe.” (John 20:29)
Such sorrow is still in my heart for all the victims of the Nazis. That such evil exists is frightening. Evil walks the Earth now as then.
For these poor innocents, named in that message,
Isaiah 43:1 “Fear not,I have called you by name, you are Mine.”
Matthew 28:20 “I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.”
Psalm 34:15 “The eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous, and His ears are open to their cry.”
If any of you could stand to, I suggest for you to Google “Winds of War/ Auschwitz gas chamber scene’’, the one with John Geilgud as “Dr.’’ Aron Jaskow’’ It is without a doubt the most horrifying and dramatic thing as ever I’ve seen filmed. I forced myself to watch it. How those actors were able to do it is simply amazing.
