Children are taken form parents who will not allow a blood transfusion— why aren’t the authorities rescuing this sick kid?

this is how messed up this country is when we have kids telling parents what to do and what they are.
Then one would think that the mother would feel ashamed she has abused her child and never been a good role model but instead she’s proud of it

I have a kid next door who is so called homeschooling and the kid is nuts

the reason he does not go to school is because he could never make friends and hit teachers.

for the easy time the father would keep him at home while he went to work and this kid is of his head and no way would I want this kid anywhere near me in 3 or 4 years if he can get a gun and would not be surprised if I hear about him in the future.

You think I am joking or over the top then not one child around here likes him, he has no friends, he has no concept on how to meet people and thinks he can do what ever he wants.

The biggest trouble causer around here is he, in fact one day I caught him looking though one of the bedroom windows.

The best thing for this kid is to get help instead of father leaving him at home to never meet anyone

BTW THE kid is 13 , thinks he is 30 but acts like a 5 year old with his tantrums.

So?...Why is it always the assumption that confining an emotionally ill child in an institutional school setting would be somehow better for him than homeschooling?

I suggest that he would be worse off. Institutional schools have many of the aspects of prison culture. The kids “imprisoned” in that environment detect emotional insecurity like sharks smell blood in the water.

Also....By having an emotionally ill child in an institutional school, what about the kids who are emotionally well-centered and eager to learn? Are they better off by having a kid who might pull another “Columbine” ( as you suggested he might) or worse off? The parents of the dead Columbine kids would have more than happy if the two Columbine killers had be kept at home.

If the two Columbine killers had been homeschooled maybe they would have just be friendless weirdos rather than assassins. The former is far better than the latter.

This child next door to me is completely gone, he has no clue how to interact and every neighbour round here now does not want him near them as they do not trust what this kid will do.

That includes every child around here too.
The kid has said he is lonely and has no one o be with, now that is the fault of the father a liberal father I might add.

He used to go to my kids school years ago bug denied it until a neighbor saw his face on a year book and then the kids found out he was thrown out of school as he needed more help than they could give him, hitting teachers, kids etc
Instead of getting that help this kid now stays at home in his supposed homeschooling.

His father is at work all day and leaves him and when once I had the kid at my door telling me he was about to run away I told his dad who in turn muttered chance would be a fine thing

I have met some good kids who go to school, public and private and I have met some good kids who stay at home.

This kid IMHO needs to be around others and learn to communicate as of right now he is a threat to himself and others.

These parents are something to be ashamed of.

They are emotionally abusing this child.

Instead of being an ADULT and straightening out this little boy, they are catering to an eight year old boy as if he has wisdom os sense. I’m sure they are PROUD of what they are doing too as well as “victims”,

Those folks are well meaning, but there are three HUGE reasons the socialization objection is a load of crap.

1. Home school by its very nature is a socialization process, where two people relate together each day to accomplish a shared set of goals.

2. Public school not only socializes your kids to the habits of other public school kids, it has less socialization than homeschooling. Sitting in a room with 30 other kids and being absolutely quiet and still while an adult talks for 45 minutes is not socialization. Sure, there’s recess and lunch, but the bulk of public schoool activities are non-social.

3. School is not all a kid does. In fact, if the typical elementary school kid is at school for six hours (and prep and travel to and from takes another hour) and sleeping for ten hours a night, it’s barely half his waking time. Add weekends into that and you have plenty of time to socialize with other kids. In fact, the first thing my home schooled kids do after public school lets out is go play with their public school buddies for at least a couple of hours. Moreover, studies show that homeschool kids have several times as many social activities as their public school counterparts.

Here’s a bonus one: If I had to choose between a kid who can think, read and write but has some social hesitance or a kid who can’t even use “their,” “they’re” and “there” properly in a written sentence but knows all they need to know about playground politics, that’s an easy pick. Fortunately, I don’t have to make that choice.

Abe Lincoln and Thomas Edison managed to figure out the social procedures. I’m betting your kids can, too.

BTW, my homeschooled son was unanimously voted patrol leader by a group of his peers who had interacted with him during two scout meetings. Somehow I got the impression that he’s been properly socialized.

Wow, that woman you know is a level of crazy I even rarely see, and I used to work at a place with lots of children where I encountered bad parents of every imaginable description (happily, I no longer have that job). Although it’s not just playing with trucks or being a girlie girl, I know boys who played with dolls and girls who played with trucks as kids (exhibit A: My sister and I) who turned out just fine. I kind of want to know if the mom in the story isn’t showing off how she’s such a ‘good parent’ by ‘accepting her child’s gender identity’ when the poor boy just wanted to play with dolls or watch Hannah Montana...
