Rules for Conservatives – a Conservative response to Saul Alinsky’s ‘Rules for Tools’

'Rules' for Conservatives

These 'rules' have a three-fold purpose – to illustrate the hideous and mean-spirited tactics of the Statists, have fun ridiculing them and put forward some Conservative “Stratergeries” to use back at them.

Saul ‘Lewinsky’ uses the term “enemy” in referring to their political opposition, speaking volumes on the mindset of the radical left. Instead of being fair and open-minded, with only ‘good intentions’, this is how they really see the opposition.

Numbered 1 through 13, there are really only about half that number, being just the same tired ideas repeated a few times.

Half the list drones on and on about maintaining pressure. This is very instructive in understanding the Statists. Certain species of snakes such as the Anaconda kill their prey by constriction, they do this by wrapping themselves around their prey to slowly squeeze the life of it. Statism does the same thing to Liberty, it wraps it’s slimy coils around a societies freedoms and over time squeezes the life out of them. Statism never relaxes it grip and keeps applying pressure until it crushes freedom – hence Ol' Saul’s “Tactics” 6-12. He advocates constantly applying pressure and never giving back rights people foolishly gave up in response to a temporary crisis or two.

Tactics:

1. "Power is not only what you have, but what the enemy thinks you have."

This is a tacit admission that the Statist’s have to rely on deception and lies to advance their agenda. They can’t be honest about what they really want and who they represent, so they pretend to represent the ‘majority’ and that we all what Big government to care of us.

The Conservative knows that private individuals, working in their own self interest can easily do a better job than a bloated government bureaucracy

2. "Never go outside the expertise of your people”.

When Lies are your stock in trade, Going 'outside the expertise of your people' means being truthful and honest. Saul knows that the Statists can never attain power if they do that.

Saul’s advice is that the Statist’s need to stick to this area of expertise and never get pulled into the realm of facts and logic and instead Lie, obfuscate and deceive. Conservatives know that the truth is on their side, We conservatives have no need to go outside the truth and into the Statist's realm of Lies, nor do we have any desire to. The Statist's have to lie because it's all they have.

3. "Whenever possible, go outside the expertise of the enemy”.

For the Statist, this means assaulting Conservatives with Double standards and lies. It means spewing an outrageous Lie at a Conservative, and quickly following up with another big lie while the Conservative is refuting the first Lie and so on. It means overwhelming the Conservative with rhetorical BS as a way of silencing the Conservative.

We Conservatives know that with the facts and logic on our side, we can win any argument with the Statists as long as it is a fair venue. The Statists can only win if the deck is stacked in their favor and their lies aren't challenged. They can only win when they are the Only voice or possible if it's ratio of 5 Statists against one Conservative.

4. "Make the enemy live up to its own book of rules.”

Given that Statists seemingly have no moral code, this would appear to be a good tactic for them. But in reality, they do have ‘rules’ – rules they want everyone else to live by, but not themselves – Statist’s are nothing if not hypocrites.

Therefore, we Conservatives should insist that the Statists ‘lead by example’ – live by their own set of stupid rules and admonitions.

If they favor disarming the law-abiding [gun control], they should first give up their guns and security personnel and proudly announce that they are ‘disarmed’.

They want to screw the achievers with high taxes, they should eagerly pay extra.

They want the rest of us to “go green”, fine let them give up their mansions and live in an Environmentally friendly cardboard shack somewhere first

If they want to suppress what they term “hate speech” they should be first to shut their collective pie holes.

Speaking of 'Hate Speech', take a look at their 5th tactic:

5. "Ridicule is man's most potent weapon”.

Aren’t Statists supposed to be fair minded and only have good intentions, always whining about Social justice and other types of PC crapola? This one readily illustrates that they are just duplicitous liars.

Given what we all know about them, maybe it’s not such a work of genius to propose this as a tactic, seeing that Conservatives can easily turn this against the Statist – and have lots of fun doing it.

Lies, Double standards and deceptions are not only easy to ridicule but enjoyable to demolish. Conservatives are confident in their beliefs and in the truth. Unfortunately, we have to keep on doing this because the Statists constantly repackage their lies and ideas with different terminology – same excrement in a different bag.

6. "A good tactic is one your people enjoy."

Lets face it, Statists can be nasty little fiends that enjoy ridiculing others to hide their own ‘Shortcomings’, hence this rule and the previous one. Clearly they would prefer not to have to contribute positively to society, that’s too hard for them, it’s too much like “Work”, better to denigrate others and have fun doing so.

They are certainly good at this “Task”, because if the Statist are good at anything besides lying, it’s spewing insults at the opposition. Or Enemy as Ol’ Saul would phrase it.

For Conservatives, there is nothing more enjoyable than eviscerating the Statist’s lying duplicity in all its many resplendent forms.

7. "A tactic that drags on too long becomes a drag”.

This may be a case where Ol’ Saul wasn’t just using some slang from the 60’s but really telegraphing what ‘he’ did on the weekends when all the whining and protesting was done. Maybe “Saul” became “Saniya“when ‘she’ headed off for a few ‘dress-up’ parties, hmmmm

8. "Keep the pressure on”

Just like the anaconda, squeezing the life out of its prey, Statists always have to maintain pressure to squeeze the Liberty and freedom out of a society. But an important distinction here is that Statist’s require the productive to fuel their vote buying revenue stream. Before they can seize full control of a society, Statist’s still require the good works of the very people they demonize – achievers and producers. They have to demonize the tax Payers (note the emphasis on ‘Payer’)– the people who actually contribute to society – in order to justify seizing their wealth.

This is important because it gives Conservatives a way to fight the Statists. As Statism wraps it’s slimy coils around a societies freedoms and liberties, it’s achiever’s and producers will either escape or gradually halt their efforts. This is why these systems invariably fail and are eventually replaced with free societies, but only at great human cost.

We conservatives can stop this cycle dead in it’s tracks if we advocate achiever’s and producers going on strike for short time periods as an act of 'civil disobedience' – as the Statist would say.

Alexander Tytler said that a democracy can only exist until people discover that they can vote to seize other’s people money. The corollary to that is that the crushing of a free society by the Statists can be halted if the achievers and producers refuse to cooperate with their very destruction.

9. "The threat is usually more terrifying than the thing itself."

This might be more than just another mention of Saul’s other life on the weekends, and what ‘she’ might look like at those Dress up parties, shudder.

This does point out the value of deterrence, as in individuals bearing arms can deter criminals and governments. All those firearms in the hands of the great unwashed, gives the Statist’s some pause in their Utopian dreams – in their deepest thought they most assuredly lament that Stalin, Hitler some of their favorite tyrants of the past didn’t have to “Deal with” ordinary citizens with guns.

10. "The major premise for tactics is the development of operations that will maintain a constant pressure upon the opposition”.

Isn’t this just a long-winded version of tactic number #8? Apparently, at this point in the book Ol’ Saul was running out of good ideas – as if he had any in the first place.

11. "If you push a negative hard and deep enough, it will break through into its counterside”.

Besides the idiotic new age gibberish, this tactic highlights the Statist’s head’s I win, Tails I win method of governance.

This is exemplified by the phenomena that the Statists always come out on top – even when it is their ideas that screw things up. To them, the answer is always more government, even when the problem IS the government, so they think they can’t lose.

12. "The price of a successful attack is a constructive alternative."

Again, another rephrasing of tactic #11, it really looks like Ol’ Saul had a thing for the number thirteen and wanted to Pad the list with any manner of BS, just to get to that number.

13. Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.”

This seems to be the Statist’s favorite tactic – mercilessly go after individuals that oppose their collectivist aspirations. These are the people that always set themselves on a pedestal as the fairest minded, tolerant and only seeking justice, yeah, sure.

Tactic #5: "Ridicule is man's most potent weapon”, and this one should be an abject embarrassments to the radical left; instead, they proudly promote and teach these hideous methods.

Remember: The aggressor sets the rules, and according to Saul Alinsky, you should always attack an individual with ridicule and never let up. Something to always to remember about the Statists. Aside from the fact that they are consummate Liars, this is the most important lesson Conservatives can learn from these tactics.

Generally consumed with Hatred of individuality and individual freedoms, Statists are vicious little snotweasels (just following your lead, Saul) that couldn’t tell the truth if their life depended on it. Conservatives need to deal with them accordingly.

Isn’t Alinsky considered to be Fauxbama’s ideological grandfather or something? Didn’t he teach these methods?

People need to be shown what the Statists really are, and what they really stand for.

Book for later. But how do you handle a mass population that no longer thinks logically and lives emotionally? Logical arguments simply won't work. If you tell them "The individual working in their own best interest is the best means of advancing everyone", they will respond with, "Oh, so you mean like survival of the fittest. Let the poor people starve?!" You can't get even get them to understand basic terms.

Rule number four is the most useful. Laws could be proposed that take it right to them and go over the top on the things they claim to be in favor of. For instance one argument that is made by the pro choice people is that we own our own bodies and (by extension) the contents/products of it. Well then we should not have an involuntary income tax because any income comes at the sweat of our brow and is a product of our own physical bodies.

If you look deep into laws you can usually find a tiny bit that is useful if you hold them to the letter of their own laws. I did it once and it is a great deal of fun.

Im done even giving the commies in charge the benefit of the doubt...the bastards are simply evil, and they are the ENEMY of all thats fair, decent and right about a FRee Republic...

Ann and Rush have been villified for using their own tactics against them in yrs past...I agree, turn up the heat but be warned, we have been able to stay somewhat patient and civil, however, the zombies will get their panties twisted and be ready to fight, with words and fists, at the drop of the hat once they get their feeeeeeeelings hurt...

I understand what you're saying. Clearly we need people to be properly educated, we need to have a vastly improved education system that Actually teaches children instead of indoctrinating them. That means some form of voucher or privatization program instead of ‘Government’ schools.

We also need to have more news outlets like Fox news that present both sides instead of left slanted propaganda. Rush, Hannity, Boortz need to pool their resources and set up another cable channel – competition would only improve the situation. If you look at the ratings, Fox news doesn't really have any competition right now.

We Conservative don't have a problem with fair debate with both sides having an equal say. The Statists can't abide that.

I would like to see if any of the radical leftists would have the Conjones to put a sign up in their front yard announcing that they are disarmed and have no means of defending themselves

That's effectively what they want the rest of us to do, wait at the tender mercies of the criminal element, they should do it first.

Good, no, excellent post.

I might also add the responses used by Liz Cheney recently. Deny the validity of the premise of the questions. Simply refuse to accept the validity of lib/leftists statements. Refuse to accept that their comments are based on a valid premise. Deny their arrogant assumptions of validity.

It makes for a whole new starting point. Baffles them completely.

Great article!

How many times have we seen these tactics by these vermin? This article is the equivalent of turning the light on in a room full of cockroaches (a.k.a. “Statists”).
