To illustrate the point, I'll provide two examples that typify the situation. Mainly, I'm concerned with how liberals view this uncommon behavior and how their denouncement of it illuminates their basic motives in political processes...
The other prominent minority conservative I'll mention is Michelle Malkin. Here's a sampling of how liberals view her conservative perspective:

Clearly, most liberals see conservatism as the exclusive domain of white Christian males. Any person not represented by that description is a race-traitor, a dishonest self-hater, and a sycophant to their white overseers. The vitriol spewed at individuals like Savage and Malkin indicates a central tenant of modern liberal thought.
As I've stated before, modern liberalism has become dominated by identity politics and group association. For liberals, law is not a manifestation of societal morality or a means by which to promote equality and justice. Rather, the political process is merely a means to procure favors upon one's collective. Liberals seek grievances and retribution for their constructed collectives, generally based on ethnic or racial categories. As I noted for the tracking post below, collective success is far more imperative than any other metric of progress.
This basic premise underlies almost all liberal opinions. As a result, they simply can not compherend a person championing values that do not directly serve group interests...
This disinterested outlook on politics is so foreign to many liberals that their only response is spewing hatred. They offer absurd ad hominem attacks concerning the minority conservative's supposed motives. They belittle their position by fabricating theories of self-hatred and loathing...

Group interests is right on. They are collective sheep needing a shepherd to lead them, not guide them .

The left has long since tried to assert that conservatism is just White Supremacism in an old attempt at discrediting conservatives without taking into account that the country is composed mostly of White Christians & any sort of conservative political application would naturally work to conserve those “passé” components.

I could spend quite a while listing all the names I’ve had thrown at me. Race traitor, sellout, wannabe Nazi, whitey’s maid, Evil Right-Wing Fascist Bitch (TM), etc. Also lots of names in Spanish.
Liberals love minorities — as long as they “know their place.” They view minorities as their property adn when one doesn’t stay on teh liberal plantation, they try to invoke some political equivalent of the Fugitive Slave Law, deamnding that their property be returned.
I visit a sporst borad that has a political board with it. One of the liberals on that board described Alan Keyes as “not a human being at all.” Jeez, even teh slave owners counted them as 3/5 of a person.

This disregard of individualism can have advantages. For instance, white folks will take some time to coalesce during a time of riot as they don't think in terms of group 'color' until it becomes obvious that that's what they have to do to survive. Real gains can be had by non-whites during this phase. It doesn't last long, so time is of the essence.
Once this becomes apparent, they can become as savage as the next person- possibly even more so. (I got to watch this up-close and personal during my high school riots that lasted three days, circa 1971, the peak of the Black Power movement).
Perhaps to minorities (who often rely on their 'color' as an identity) the perception is, that white people do too, but nothing could be further from the truth. In my lifetime, I've only met a few who would place their 'whiteness' anywhere near the top of things they identified with.
I think it would serve minorities well to understand that white people care most about individual rights than group rights based on things like sexual orientation or color. At least they will until it becomes a liability (where government interfers and starts tilting the playing field).
Liberals have never seen a level field. In their mind, it's always up-hill for them and they deserve a boost up. Any member of a minority who sees a level field is considered dim at best, and a traitor at worst. But, in fairness, a level field would seem difficult if you had to carry hundreds or perhaps thousands of your 'kind' across it. This 'weight' is self-assigned and needn't be, were it not for the collective mentality at work.
Imagine if someone told you they'd get you to the 'goal line' and all you had to do was sit in a wagon. You'd be a fool not to take them up on it. But once you get there and it's time to go back, you'll be waiting for the wagon, again. Not your fault- the liberal 'conditioned' you and now they have to come up with the wagons to get their 'dependent collective' across the playing field of life once more.
The only solution to this dilema is to kick everyone out of the wagons, set the wagons on fire, and point across the field to the promised land. Hold hands and sing spirituals if you want, but the only way you're getting there is 'on your own'.
Obama is building wagons. He's the wagon master today. Tomorrow, he'll be taking us on a short-cut. Through the Donner Pass. Be sure to pack your snowshoes and a fork.
I always find it amusing when white libs are astonished at “minorities” who refuse to be victims. I’ve read columns by libs who profess astonishment coupled with outrage when certain people who cannot be classified as white european refuse to comply with the libs demands to fall into the designated victim of white America camp. “Don’t you know you’re a VICTIM!!” they shriek at the confused non-white persons who just want to get on with their lives. Without guilty white libs, this country would be in a lot better shape.
During the 2008 election I would get libs that question the validity of Sarah Palin as VP, when Zero's inadequate record was staring them right in the face.
This is a huge democratic stronghold in this area. I hope Zero is wearing on them.
