By the time the Three Musketeers are rushed to the rescue of plot as well as princeling, the film is teetering on the ragged edge of dullness. Oh well.
The publicity photo at the end was really from the entertainment section on Sunday, July 16, but I decided to be anachronistic just this once so we could see who Latin Bombshell Desi Arnaz is performing with in his nightclub act at La Conga (see the ad directly above Miss Costellos head).

Brilliant Man, Mr. Arnaz.

How carefree things must have seemed in New York in that summer of 1939. All sorts of great entertainment. And then the world changed forever.

1939, what a year. If they had only known at the 1939 Academy Awards, that all the nominee's and Oscar winners were standing at that moment at the mountain top. That in the whole life line of American entertainment, it would never be any better that that.
Here we are 70 years later, and look what American entertainment has come to. Moronic movie like “Bruno” can make it to number 1, where stupid reality TV shows have become the dominate choice for programing on our TV sets, and where if you want to listen to good music, you better locate an oldies station on your radio
