Steve McQueen. First movie. The Blob. Ending. The blob was frozen in place by turning up the air-conditioning in the theater. Last scene, a crated up blob is being air dropped onto arctic ice. Blame global warming.

"a closeup pic of goo in a bucket:" That picture definitely looks like string algae to me. It's usually a reddish, but it can certainly look black, especially if it's dead or dying.

Yeah the one where the kids get stranded on the raft in the middle of the lake surrounded by this stuff. That was good. Very creative on the part of the writers.
