It doesn’t matter if the state of Hawaii actually destroyed those paper documents. They would have all been scanned into the state’s computers, so that exact digital facsimiles could be created later, at will.

The CNN exec who first made this claim didn’t think it all the way through, before throwing up that ridiculous cover for Obama.

He’s essentially claiming that if you were born in Hawaii, that you can no longer obtain a copy of your long form birth certificate, but can only obtain a Certification of Live Birth. This is as stupid a statement as I’ve ever heard any left-wingnut make.

On top of all that, there’s been no statement from the Hawaiian state government corroborating this report. Not that I’ve seen, anyway.

The word of Hawaii officials might be challenged in court since the more citizens they have, they more federal funding they get. They still have not given a consistent answer on Obama’s birth records.
