(KNX 1070 NEWSRADIO) - It's been a viral sensation since hitting YouTube just two days ago. It's called MegaWoosh.
A man slides down a long water slide, and then is launched over a hundred feet, landing in plastic swimming pool. It's pretty amazing...But is it real? The Internet is on fire with debate.
{VIDEO AT LINK}
Agreed. You don’t see him flying in the air. Only the take-off and landing.
I don’t see how they could have faked it, there are no breaks in the footage, and you can see him moving during flight, and curling into a ‘ball’ just before he hits the pool.
If it IS fake, they did a dammed good job!
aka Super Dave Osborne?
You do see “him” flying in the air and emerging from the pool, in a continuous take.
You lose sight of him at the trough of the slide. A figure appears on the upslope of the slide, flies through the air, lands in the pool. Then you lose sight of the figure behind the pool walls and a man emerge from the pool.
So maybe there were two different men at the beginning and the end, and a dummy flying through the air.
On the other hand, it looks like it might be in Norway, and they have some insane people who jump off cliffs in wing suits.
I agree about the dummy/model part.
And the rate of acceleration down the slide is way too high. Looks like he had a rocket propelling him.
I don’t see how he could have gained such velocity with that low angle, but it looks like it would be fun to do.
BS.
Watch it again, his arms are moving as he flies. I think it was faked though with some clever editing.
The water slide and te ramp have don’t align and have a lot of spacebetween them.Wssup wit dat?
Yep. Just before he hits the water you can see him pull his arms up and in toward his chest. He also begins to curl into a ball just before he hits. This does not mean they couldn’t have videod the guy laying on his back making the motions and then photoshopped it in to the big video... but if the did they did one heck of a job.
The part that seems fishy to me is the acceleration down the first part of the ramp. It seems to me like he starts moving way to fast. And the sound is awfully loud compared to the sound in the rest of the video.
Dunno but its great regardless.
Pure bullship.
The splash is inconsistent with the velocity.
Look closer at the slide and the bumps/waves in the bottom third of the surface that we can see. At speed, a body in motion would go airborne. No air before the ramp that I can tell.
Another thing I find interesting is what little water they poured onto the slide. There are a couple of buckets on the ground, and just before he ‘took off’, they poured two more buckets.
For a slide of that size, it would take MUCH more water than that, and it would have to be continuously flowing to support that kind of speed. We have no way of knowing if there were other sources of water on the slide.
If this stunt is real, they shouldn’t mind doing it again with more cameras and witnesses. I know if I could do a stunt that exciting, I would be doing it in front of more than a few friends and a camera.
That was another indication it was fake. At the speed he was traveling, at that angle, he probably would have violently hit the far side of that pool and broke some bones. If something like that were really done, a MUCH bigger/deeper pool would have to be used.
First, the altitude of the launch point appears to be lower than that of the ramp...no launch.
Second, the rate of acceleration is inconsistant with the slope and roughness of the decent ramp...This guy would have been a gutter ball before the bottom of the hill.
Third, being really good at video photoshopping can get you a bizillion hits on youtube...Good job guys...((;O)
