I needed a sports article to go with the weekly baseball standings. If I had read this a little more closely I probably would have picked something else. Oh, well, for all you track and field fans out there . . .

Robert L. Riggs is named as the winner in the first round of a major tennis tournament. It might have been the U.S. Open, which he won in 1939. This is the same Bobby Riggs who lost a much publicized match to Billie Jean King in 1973, when he would have been 55 or so.
