here are many things one can criticize about President Barack Obama, but his status as a natural-born U.S. citizen should not be one.
The focus of some on the question of Obamas legitimacy as president because of his place of birth is a silly distraction.
That would be different if there were a shred of truth to it, but theres not, and its been pretty definitively shown.
Let us count the ways:
A copy of his Hawaiian birth certificate has been released.
Birth announcements appeared in Hawaiian newspapers in 1941.
A Kenyan birth certificate for Obama was shown to be a fake.
Bill OReilly pal to conservatives everywhere has called the claims of Obamas foreign birth, bogus.
Staff from FactCheck.org has actually seen and checked the authenticity of the original birth certificate.
McCains people checked into the legitimacy of claims about Obamas foreign birth during the election campaign they found them wanting.

I'm not even going to comment on the Bill O'Reilly comment...a pal to conservatives? O rly?
What a complete crock.
Is this a ‘bama buddies circle-jerk site?
i believe it’s more about his transparency. we were told so little about his except that if we oppose him we are racist. people are waking up at last.
The truth is too dangerous to reveal?
The bigger problem is he is already president. Ann Coulter disowned this movement too.
You can always tell when your enemies are nervous on an issue when they try to silence you.
More LibTard drivel. These points are so shaky they don’t deserve response.
The long and the short of it is this: Why spend hundreds of thousands of dollars to keep secret documentation that would cost only a few hundred to release, unless there is something to hide?
Where’s the BC? Where are the college records, especially the tuition payment details? Where is the passport used to travel to Pakistan? Where are the Law Review details?
Far too many questions and far too few answers, IMO. This is a critical Constitutional issue and deserves a full and full hearing and resolution.
I remain a proud ‘birther’.
The BC is a good tool to use to continue to club 0be about his lack of openness and transparency.
The media and all the presstitutes keep shouting that we cannot handle the truth!! Reminds you of a movie doesn't it?
There are problem with the image on the Fight the Smears webpage: it is clearly not a scan of a piece of paper. It is also clearly technically invalid since it says in large print at the bottom that any changes invalidate it, and there is a obvious change to the document where the numbers were blacked out:
The newspaper listings bizarrely list an address that the Obamas were never associated with, and never lived at.
The Kenyan Clown even admits to at least dual citizenship on his Fight the Smears webpage:
When Barack Obama Jr. was born on Aug. 4,1961, in Honolulu, Kenya was a British colony, still part of the United Kingdoms dwindling empire. As a Kenyan native, Barack Obama Sr. was a British subject whose citizenship status was governed by The British Nationality Act of 1948. That same act governed the status of Obama Sr.s children.
Since Sen. Obama has neither renounced his U.S. citizenship nor sworn an oath of allegiance to Kenya, his Kenyan citizenship automatically expired on Aug. 4,1982.
(From http://www.fightthesmears.com/articles/5/birthcertificate.html, which is still up.)
He also lived for many years in Indonesia. To do so, he either must have had a visa or he was a citizen.
The presidency is the highest office in the land. It has simple requirements, and there should not be even a shred of a question about the eligibility of the man in office to serve.
Obama needs to let the sun shine in and make all of his records clear and unambiguous: produce all of his passports, both current and past; allow all of the vital records to be opened up; show the visa or citizenship records relating to his long sojourn in Indonesia; answer the still open question as to what Kenyan documents exist (his father was a Kenyan government apparatchik, and I think it's very likely that he would have registered Obama's birth in Kenya.)
pay no attention to the man behind the curtain
A copy of his Hawaiian birth certificate has been released.
A bald faced lie. The only document that's been "released" is an apparent copy of his "Certification of Live Birth," not his "birth certificate," which is formally known as his "Certificate of Live Birth." This editorial tries deceitfully to conflate the two. By now the writer(s) had to know the difference between a "Certificate" and a "Certification."
If I remember correctly, a fellow FReeper sometimes writes for the paper. I know that every so often a breath of sane air is blown through the opinion section...but not nearly often enough.
That said, the ONLY reason I subscribe is for the info on local stuff to do, coupons and recipes. If it were not for the paper, I would have never known that there was an organized Perseid watching get together last night...not that I went (it was cloudy anyway).
My comment was certainly not directed at you. I did go to the site and see that it is a ‘local news’ place. And it looks to do a good job on that. I understand the value of a site like that.
Again, no disrespect directed to you. Things are just getting too darn weird out there.
“Again, no disrespect directed to you.”
No problem, I didn’t even take your comment that way! :)
I too share your beliefs. Keep it flying!
great tagline! I LOL’ed for real! :P
