You're right about Obama's lack of excuses, too. Just as previous inaction doesn't invalidate the current protests, previous wrong action doesn't make continued wrong action somehow the right thing to do.

He's done it again this summer. He cited a woman (fake?) who reportedly (according to his people/TOTUS) said "I don't want socialized medicine... AND DON'T TOUCH MY MEDICAID!!!"

The implication being she's satisfied to accept Medicaid (imlicated as a form of Socialized Medicine) but it does NOTHING to dispell the claims that Obamacare IS Socialist.

Is he trying to say, "don't let that word Socialized scare you..."?

Your pathetic little misspelled protest signs are embarrassing.

Sometimes you can spell all of the words right, and even have legible handwriting, but be an embarassment to this nation.

"You didn't get mad when over 10 billion dollars just disappeared in Iraq."

Yep! That's because the congresscritters in this country can pull that off over lunch.

But when trillions disappear in just 6-months, we really get pissed!

Here is one that us conservatives made up and held up outside Arlington National Cemetery...we got all the words right, and for the Code Pinkos, Anarchists and other liberals, the message was the right one, too.

Yea, I encounter this every day on the open forums. That’s why I mock them with their own lunacy - there isn’t a one of them that can rationally defend their POV and not a one of them that can remain civil under any circumstances.

What’s also pretty evident is that dhimmis are equally thin-skinned and cowardly. They go hand~in~hand and are borne out in their approach to discourse. If they can’t successfully bluff, bluster, or blather, they bully you. If bullying doesn’t work they threaten. Because of the nature of the Internet that’s about as far as it ever goes (unless they can obtain personal information about you, your children, or your home).

And that is because of their inherent cowardice. They do not have the courage of their convictions and will not stand up even on principle. I shield personal info to protect my children (everyone should). I harbor few illusions about dhimmis and I NEVER turn my back on one.

First of all the assumptions show a complete lack of ANY research or reading of FR and other Conservative sites.

Second I agree with all the answers. How many FReepers stood outside Walter Reed for days if not years?

Third, just what the he$$ does any of that to do with 0care?

In fairness, there really was not much to get mad at Repubs as far as the spending went...

Bush’s tax cuts caused the majority of the deficit, but it did what was intended, getting us out of recession. At least he did the right thing by cutting taxes instead of doing a trillion dollar porkulus.

Also, Bush never had more than 18% of the budget to cut. The rest was defense, interest on the debt, and entitlements. What cuts he asked for, were mostly blocked by the Democrats, although he did get some budget cuts every year except the last two IIRC (even though the budget increased).

Yes, he did increase spending on defense, but it was badly needed. The wars in Iraq and Afghanistan cost, but they were only about 5% of the budget annually. He also was responsible for NCLB and Medicare part D, but both have been successes. NCLB forced teachers to prove they were educating kids (that is why teachers to a person hate NCLB), and Medicare part D has come in 40% under budget. Both were campaign promises that he kept, and both were far less expensive than the Democrat’s proposals.

For the last three months of his term, he believed he had no choice but to bailout the financials with TARP. He also had to work with Pelosi to get anything passed at all. I was not happy with the authorization to bail out Wall Street, but it worked. It prevented a catastrophe. We didn’t know at the time of the $550 billion dollar run on our money markets, but the President did. FWIW, of the 700 billion authorized, there is about 330 billion outstanding, and more will be paid back. He believed he had no choice, and I agree. I understand though, why many do not.

When you add in the challenges from Enron and the dotcom bust, 9/11, all of the natural disasters under his term (and there were a bunch of them...five hurricanes including Katrina in 2005 alone), and the war on terror, and the financial collapse, GWB and the Republicans actually were conservative in their spending, even though the debt doubled in eight years (5 Trillion).

In fact, because of GWB’s business friendly policies of holding down taxes and regulations, our GDP grew rapidly enough to keep government spending in the 18.5-20.5% of the GDP, below average for the last thirty years. If not for the real estate collapse, our budget would have been balanced in 2008...it almost made it in 2007. The debt to GDP held steady at about 60% of GDP, about the same as 1990-1996.

It is mostly the paulites that keep tagging GWB as such a huge spender, but they are wrong. They discount the fact that for six years Democrats voted as a block against everything Delay and Bush tried to do with the budget, and the incredible demands on the government in the same time period.

On the other hand, Obama’s spending (just in the budget) may exceed 35% of GDP. He may well double the debt in his first term (10 trillion). There really is no comparison between the massive spending we are seeing now, and the previous administration’s. Unfortunately, Republicans voting as a block cannot affect Obama’s budgets, as the Dems (with the help of a few RINOs) could GWB’s.

Tom Delay told conservatives that Republicans did the best they could, and it was the truth. With Obama and the Democrats having shown their true colors on spending the last three years, it is time to quit trying to paint GWB and the Republicans spending as somehow the same. It wasn’t, and it is easy to prove. A good example is conservative’s throwing Republicans under the bus for $44 billion in earmarks, about 2% of the budget in 2005. In place of them, we have Pelosi who won’t even talk about earmarks, and a porkulus bill that will spend $300 billion on exactly the same type of projects. 44 billion was not an exorbitant amount, it was just presented that way as a Democrat talking point.

Certainly spending was far higher than what libertarians would prefer, but now we need to acknowledge the realities of the Bush Administration’s fiscal policy.

By the way, I’m not picking on you particularly, but your theme keeps coming up, and it only helps Obama cover the staggering amount of spending he and the Dems are doing, spending that will destroy our country.

I have the charts and links to back everything up I have said in this post, so this is not just BS! (Sorry for the long post!)

Apart from his wife celebrating her husband’s victory, name ONE thing that the President has celebrated about America?

She celebrated the lead-infested Victory Garden in the back 40 at the White Crib, so she's got that goin' for her.

You didn't get mad when the deficit hit the trillion dollar mark.

We didn't get mad, we got furious over that one - Zero is on the same page with Bush on that one and then some. Since it's the only point brought up that has any merit, it's the only one I'll respond to.

You can always tell him

You didn’t get mad when Obama claimed to vote against the Iraq war when he had not yet been elected to the Senate and could not have vote against it.

You didn’t get mad when he was finally a Senator and voted for every single appropriations bill to fund the war in Iraq...and Afghanistan.

You didn’t get mad when he claimed to have been born from the Selma Riots when they happened 5 years after his birth.

You didn’t get mad when he promised no lobbyists and no pork in spending bills and placed over 30 lobbyists in administration positions, tax cheats and the first bill he signed contained over 9,000 items of pork.

You didn’t get mad when Obama named over 50 Czars that are not beholden to the congress, senate or the American people..

You didn’t get mad that he had to name those same Czars because he does not have the executive experience and has no clue how to do his job.

You didn’t get mad that he thinks so little of September 11 that he allowed his “own” jet buzz Manhattan with fighter jets following it.....

You didn’t get mad when he claimed AARP supports his health care bill even after they said they do not.

You didn’t get mad when he personally called in his own thugs to go into Town Hall and “get into their faces”.
When an elderly black man was attacked repeatedly was kicked in the face and chest by Obama’s union thugs, did you get mad or did you jump on the lie bandwagon that “if Obama care was in effect he would have had insurance?” (He does, through his wife’s employer)

You didn’t get mad during the election when he allowed on his own website people to post pictures wearing Palin is a c**t t-shirts or did you laugh about the as he did when asked why they were allowed?

You don’t get mad when Obama fills his town hall meetings with so many plants it looks like a greenhouse.

You didn’t get mad when the Administration runs a consistent pattern of refusal to disclose information after promising transparency, even Helen Thomas blasted him for that!

You didn’t get mad that he he spent exactly 51 days in the Senate then spent the next year and a half running for president, had one of the highest missed vote counts of all Senators and collected a salary for it.

You didn’t get mad when he even admitted he would not have given his own Grandmother a hip replacement because she was old....I bet your Grandmother was pretty mad to hear that!!

My lord, I can go on and on with this guy and it’s only been six months!!!

Ah the White House farm patch, where Michelle Obama sits among the carrots and peas.

She tried to force raw pea pods on kids as a snack yet she still goes OUT for hamburgers.

Do as I say, not as I do, comrade.

Wonder when she’ll get the neighborhood kids to tend her collectivist farm.
