NEW YORK (AP) ― Ed Reimers, the actor who told television viewers "you're in good hands with Allstate" for decades, died Sunday in upstate New York, a relative said. He was 96.
Reimers, who also served as an announcer for several TV shows in the 1950s and '60s, died at his daughter's home in Saratoga Springs, said Dean Lindoerfer, his nephew by marriage. The cause of Reimers' death wasn't immediately clear.

Those announcers seem to live long...Don Pardo, Paul Harvey... must be a good job.
I have never had Allstate Insurance but have heard a bunch of people say their service is poor.
Ed was on the radio with Ronald Reagan.
“The cause of Reimers’ death wasn’t immediately clear.”
He was 96!
I’ve learned the name and have a face to go with it. The things I learn here. RIP good sir.
Worst I ever had. I have Farmer's now, and they've been very good.
RIP. As I remember on a Star Trek gag reel, somebody tossed a tribble at him when he was in his Admiral uniform and without missing a beat, he looked at the camera and said, “You’re in good hands with Tribbles !”
I think it's safe to say, "His heart stopped..."
I remember that too! :)
