Dont forget the black tar heroin that fueled a lot of it.

I made the classic mistake when hearing about New York. You said Central New York and I thought you were talking about midtown Manhattan. Well, I guess you can call Central Park rural - for a New Yorker.

I believe that was a misprint. I think it was supposed to read "NJ, when Edison was still alive."

;-)

Nooo. I don’t think I could ever live in NYC, although people do love it. I’ll take Central New York any day, LOL.

I was in Ithaca just once for an antique show I was doing there. Since I’ve become a political junkie, I’ve stayed far away, LOL.

Boston?!?!?

The article is out of date.

“The 50-acre Boston Common is the country’s oldest public park. It is now a highlight of the “Emerald Necklace” of the neighborhood parks system.”

Uh, no. See http://www.universalhub.com/images/2008/draftcommon.pdf

“State sales tax 5.00%”

Uh, no again. It’s 6.25%

Well, Coyotes and beavers occassionally do show up in Central Park. There are deer in the Bronx, Staten Island and (occassionally) eastern Queens.

Not a bad place to grow up, if mommy and daddy have the money to fork over tuition in the five digits for private school. There are some great magnet high schools, however.

If you could create the ideal community to raise a child in, what ingredients would you include?

Indoctrination in homosexuality. Check.

Indoctrination in global warming and environmental activism. Check.

Indoctrination in socialism. Check.

Indoctrination in government supremacy and control. Check.

Indoctrination in "multiculturalism". Check.

Indoctrination in moral relativism. Check.

Indoctrination against religion. Check.

Indoctrination against the family. Check.

Indoctrination against the military. Check.

Indoctrination against personal responsibility. Check.

Hence the list of "perfect places' to raise a child. A list made by liberal communists. For liberal communists. No room for wholesome cities where family, God and Country head the list of priorities, or where responsibility is taught and valued over the cradle-to-grave entitlement mentality.

My town wasn’t listed. Good.

You all stay out.

BTW we are in an undisclosed east Texas town.

Just as long as my favorite places are not on the list is all that matters to me.

People just adore lists, don't they?

I intend to make a list of the reasons why people love lists and present it to some editor to publish on a slow news day. I will conduct some half-baked but officious and seemingly rigorous appearing study, which will really be nothing more ambitious than some informal q&a that I'll cobble together and bend any which way i please, depending on my particular whim at the moment.

And it will be every bit as valid as this or most any other disseminated list. If this undertaking is misguided in your view simply list the reasons why.
