before zip codes and 2 letter abbreviations, Ala was the standard abbreviation for Alabama. Can’t remember what they used for Alaska.

I know Tecce and a couple of his guys , not a guy you want to mess with ,

The north end has and always will be my favorite place, sadly though the rich elitist yuppies are ruining the area much like they ruin many areas

not so much, money played a part but many families moved out when the neighborhood changed

there’s still some of the older folks left but sadly the place is changing and yet Boston still says the Italian neighborhood to the tourists.

I remember when Tecce’s entrance was in an alley [can’t recall off what street now] and if you ordered “Joe’s coffee” cheap table wine came in a coca-cola bottle covered with aluminum foil. No IDs were ever checked. Food was excellent, cheap and bountiful. Glad to know he is still alive. Those were good days. ;)

I worked there for years so I go tot know many of the owners of the restaurants and businesses.

Shame it’s changed and when the old guys tell me how it used to be with kids running around and how the community was it breaks my heart as well as there’s

couple of years ago someone knocked the head off columbus and many older folks were telling me that no one dared to have done anything like that back on the day.

The feast of st anothony is a tradition going back many years and believe this or not but some of the new yuppies in the area complained that the street was closed.

locals answer to them was

if you don’t like it then move away as we don’t want you here.

same as southie which was an old Irish neighborhood, now yuppies move ion to be near the city and so they can see the city lights.
course they forget that those lights they like use energy , something they are supposed to be against

san jose, they’ve got to be kidding... yeah, low crime rate if you live in the rich side of town..otherwise the city itself and all the surrounding towns have the biggest batch of asian gangs in the state...
