Well, in looking at these, I am taken back to the observation of Paul Theroux that he often heard in China "老外好騙" (foreigners are easy to gull), but it appears in this case that also "中國人好騙" (Chinese are easy to fool) since none of these absurd labels would pass muster outside of China. The only people who could be taken in by these 偽物 (counterfeit goods) are Chinese. (The kanji in "偽物" are Japanese, I don't know the equivalent Chinese.)

If they are fake Chinese products, what country were they really made in?

Also known as “Canal Street Specials.” When I was a child, my dad bought me a “Rovex” watch on Canal Street. These photos could have been taken in Chinatown NYC today.

Reminds me of the almost affordable Rolax watches I saw at a flee market. But did you flee?

this poster is wondering just how many of those fakes are made on the very same assembly lines as the real products. Early this year theere was a story posted that told of a real, franchised factory turning out real products, while the owner's brother owned the adjoining factory that was turning out the knockoffs. "Brother A" supplied the patterns to "Brother B", so they would be "good" copies.

Reminds me of the Shrap calculator and the Gross pen I was given as graduation presents.
Weirdly enough both worked quite well.
