Scorned Wife Exacts Revenge on Hubby, Entertains Us
NBC New York ^ | 8/27/09

Shame can be a powerful punishment. Just ask the guy who had to stand at the corner of Leesburg Pike and International Drive in Tysons Corner, Va., this morning. You know, the guy wearing the sign that said, "I CHEATED. THIS IS MY PUNISHMENT."

A man who identified himself as William Taylor of Centreville, Va. told a passerby that he cheated on his wife -- and she found evidence of it on his cell phone. So the wife allegedly doled out a rather creative punishment: He had to stand at the intersection during morning rush, wearing the handmade sign. We haven't quite decided if this is a publicity stunt for some wacky YouTube channel or a ratings-driver for a morning radio station. But if it's true, we like it. We. Are. Amused.

People reported seeing him as early as 9 a.m., and his presence was discussed on several of D.C.'s morning radio shows. Taylor said his wife texted him a little before 11 a.m. and said he'd been out there long enough. He removed the sign and skedaddled.

Leesburg Pike in Tysons Corner is one of the most traffic-clogged arteries in the area, making for maximum viewing pleasure.

Hope it was worth it, buddy.

Traffic around that area is enormous. Glad I don’t drive there anymore.

I seriously doubt this is a true story. No way a few hours out there was enough. Maybe we’ll talk after a couple years.....

I guess it’s better than sending him a tape of her boffing his brother.

I rather think both parties have eventually done “the right thing.”

My guess is he likes his wife enough to do this, something that will be with both of them the rest of their lives. Of course, she has to put up with what he did, too.

Hopefully, he stops his ways and they grow a bit going forward.

I agree. What probably happened was, after being caught, he asked what he could do to redeem himself, then the wife probably told him to put on a sign, stand on the corner, and be there till...

There is hope for the both of them. A rare thing in this world. May it be true repentance.

It’s either a publicity stunt or he must be as dumb as he looks.

Standing on a corner from 9 - 11, either he’s unemployed or works nights. My money’s on unemployed - he’s too dumb to delete messages on his cell phone!

Hey, if a man did this to a woman, we’d never hera the end of “abuse.”

Why, then, can a woman to it to a man?

Really,if I was that pissed with her to begin with, I`d have just said “Well, lets split the proceeds and I`ll see ya”.

Uh, think about it, it wouldn't work the other way. If a wife was standing out there with a sign saying she cheated on her husband, it would humiliate him as much, or more. Men don't usually want to announce they are wearing horns.
