May I please make a humble request? Is there any way you could add a button or something on the submission screen to warn of us forbidden sources before we spend the time preparing an article for posting?
It's called Copyright Sources, and it warns you what sites we must excerpt, or avoid completely. (I don't think anyone's yet said we can't even create a link to their stuff.)
Whoops - it’s called “Copyright List”, not “Copyright Sources”. My bad.
But it would be nice if it were possible to submit just a link to an article and get back a response about whether or not the source can be used.
I wish there was a way (maybe there is?) to get to posts of mine or another FReeper so you didn’t have to go through tens and tens of pages. Say I want to see something I posted or someone else posted from 2005. I don’t know how to get to it without having to keep clicking “next page” forever.
What I meant though was that there is a check at post/preview time on the source. It would be nice to have the code that performs that check linked to a button by the source text entry box so you could run it first before going through all the effort of formatting a full post.
I don't know the reasons why other people with membership dates in my era have continued on FRee Republic, but one of the main reasons that I have done so is the high quality of the forum software involved. It just feels more than a little disturbing that I could be about to do something that a trusted old friend doesn't want me to do and I wish I could ask to see if it's OK first.
Does that make sense?
Exactly.
