Information Wars
We are losing the information wars. A story on yahoo states that people (especially Republicans) believe the distortions that are out there regarding healthcare reform. They are believing that a pubic option means that the government will choose your doctor. They are believing that there will be death panels and they are believing that the healthcare reform bill means their costs will go up. How is it that we have allowed the conservatives to gain control of the message. I agree with Howard Dean. The Republicans are lousy at governing but are masterful at playing the opposition. Who has time for pesky details when you can scare the hell out of the citizenry. Our job must be to gain control of the message. Where are the positive stories showing healthcare in other countries? Where are the real life stories showing people who have insurance but are not getting covered? Where are the stories of insurance death panels that currently exist. We MUST get these stories out if we expect to be successful. The future of reform depends on it. We MUST find a cohesive message Posted by MarchForHealthCare at 1:50 PM

So far March for Healthcare has taken off quickly. Our website has gotten a lot of attention and our facebook group is now over 1100 members in just a couple of days. The real fight is ahead. You must give credit where credit is due. The republicans have succeeded in the media battle. They got their people to the townhalls and tea party events and had them shout down anyone trying to have a reasonable discussion. Don't even get me started on the fact that many of these people yelling are currently on government run medicare. I still believe that the majority of the citizens in the country want a choice between a public and private option. While the right continues to demonize the government, they give the insurance industry a pass. They fail to bring up the fact that the insurance industry currently has death panels. It is called denying claims to keep up profits. I believe we are reaching an inflextion point in the debate. Will the will of the people be hijacked by a loud group that seeks no compromise or reform. If this is a debate about who is more passionate than up until this point, we have lost. Yes, we have one the battle of ideas but that is often to complex to put into 30 second sound bites. That is why I agree with Robert Reich. We must march for healthcare and march soon. The fate of the uninsured, underinsured, and overcharged is at stake. Mr. President, we only need 51 votes to pass your healthcare reform. Join us on September 13th in every city and every state to demand that the congress pass healthcare reform with the public option.
Never heard of it...
The Republicans are lousy at governing but are masterful at playing the opposition.
Dillweed has it upside down. The GOP is terrible at marketing and self-promotion but at least adequate at administering. But the GOP is out of the AWOL on the healthcare debate. It is the grassroots on the right that is keeping a rout from occurring by the malevolent left.
Scheduling any march on the opening Sunday of NFL shows just how clueless and out of touch these effete elitists are.
Republicans are not the ones behind this movement. They may be pulled along with it but—its not a GOP thing. They McCain-RINOs are not to be seen at these rallies, it is the hard core conservative who show up.
Community Organizer (with a lisp): Is that that thingy where those big brutes in helmets smash into each other chasing a ball? That's just too violent for me to watch! I'll take a nice Mocha and the Sunday New York Times, snuggling with my life partner in bed, anytime...
Will you be there?
Be sure to vote here...

Wow, what insane hubris.
So, if the left puts out a "message" that is a total lie, and folks don't believe that lie, it's because they were out-marketed?!?!?!
Bizarro world. All of these people are completely insane.
Go Bob McDonnell, the precursor of things to come.
Fade to Jimmy Reed:
Down in Virgina, Down where the green grass grows.
HR3200 has every evil ever imagined including punishment for doctors, punishment for patients, forced abortion, ...... you name it, it is in there ~ and mostly as a consequence of an unconstitutional power grab that gives final authority over life and death to committees of un-elected, unaccountable and unknowing "boards of aeons".
Can Obama sell ice to Eskimos?
Can Obama sell a “government take over of health insurance” to a country where better than 80% of us do not want to change the plan that we currently have, in a country with the BEST recovery rates, for serious operations, in the world?
What is really sickening is that around 7 years ago you noticed all government school grads using the same lines when discussing Castro. Every one of them will tell you that "he loves his people". Indoctrination has gone well up here.
Will you rally for the public option on Sept. 13th?
