I recently read about a syndrome some people are afflicted with called Asbergers Syndrome, they become obsessed to the fine details of obscure items or trends, I think I have been like that most of my life.
Seriously though if it came down to TEOTWAWKI situations there will be no restriction upon using anything at my disposal to protect myself and my loved ones, and I do not care what label gets slapped upon me for I know in my heart what I do is right and right for the right reasons.
Guns are good to have, if you have them. But many will find out soon that what they have bought and registered legally is also known to those that have superior resources to come into your home and just remove them.
But the mind is the most powerful weapon ever created, as a human species we know all to well the depths of mis-use of power of wars but we also have the built in factor of reasoning and compassion to the point of a weakness as viewed by other nations, we as Americans are unique for the most part on Earth, we have been called sleeping giants and also called demons but we have never wantonly as a nation committed gross acts of genocide.
Granted the native Indians of America can argue about some points on that issue but as a whole we are compassionate people but if we as a unified nation decide to fight against an enemy we can and will pull out the stops.
So many people do not know what America did at home to support the Armed Forces during WW2, I remember my mother telling me how she had to wear cardboard shoes and the girls painted their legs so our soldiers had nylon.
About re-cycling bacon grease into explosives. About the scrap steel drives, fuel rationing, a nationwide 35mph speed limit, can you just imagine THAT having to be enforced in our current society?

When Samurai swords are outlawed, only outlaws will have Samurai swords.
Cold Steel manufacturs a number of tomahawks, and there are ample courses, videos, and books out there on their employment as a defensive weapon. They can be fearsome in the hands of someone who knows how to weild them, and the rest of the time, pack away neatly as "camping equipment."
This summer I took a very large truck bearing race and hammer forged it into a fighting knife, some of the well known knife makers use bearing steel, Cold Steel has some really nice shortened versions of a Katana, pricey as all getouts and these have been supplied to “special forces”.

Three thing to keep in mind. Live where registration is not required. Know which of your firearms have a paper trail. If you have to turn them in, turn them in one round at a time.

No one will ever force me to abandon my guns, and I think I speak for many others also. To disarm me is to tell me I am helpless to defend myself. In other words it is attempted murder. I have the right to defend myself from such laws.

The Germans used to duel but didn’t kill unless it was a really bad grudge thing. Instead they tried to put a scar on the others persons face. They used Sabers and it was considered a badge of honor to have at least one Saber scar to show the women how brave you were(I bet a lot of eyes were lost).
I always had an innate fear of swords. Also a fascination with all types of edged implements, axes, swords, knives, hatchets, machetes, etc.
My Father-in-Law brought back a large number (over 12) of Japanese swords from WWII. Some of them were military type sabers but I am sure some were actual Samurai swords. I always figured I would get them someday but his worthless Son has I am pretty sure, stolen and sold them all.
I remember in the book “All Quiet on the Western Front” the German soldiers after a lot of fierce hand to hand combat, began to prefer sharpened spades to the bayonet. I think mainly because the bayonet had a tendency to get stuck.
