I wish I hadn't amputated the end of "'Torpedoed!' an English-made sea melodrama," on the second image. I would have liked to know more about it. Oh, well. On with our main feature.

That's it. Originally released in 1937 as "Our Fighting Navy." Official U.S. release date is tomorrow, 9/25. When I saw mention of a movie called "Torpedoed!", filmed in part at Scapa Flow, I wondered if someone had a well-tuned crystal ball. In about three weeks "torpedo" and "battleship" are going to be commonly used terms in Times stories for a few days.
