Philadelphia, PA (AHN) - Authorities in Pennsylvania have arrested a 19-year-old for duct-taping a cat from head to toe. The cat, now recovering in a shelter, was said to have wandered into the man's yard last week and was later discovered by a neighbor wrapped in tape.
James Davis, of the 2100 block of 22nd St., was arrested over the weekend, according to the Pennsylvania Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. He faces a misdemeanor charge of animal cruelty that carries a maximum two-year sentence.
The female cat had been found by one of Davis' neighbors near her backyard fence last Tuesday. The cat was brought by a Humane Law Enforcement officer to the SPCA, which treated the animal for dehydration and then sedated her to remove the duct tape.
The SPCA has named the cat Sticky. The group had offered a 2,000 reward for information about the crime and now says it will distribute the money to those who helped authorities if the case results in a conviction.
Davis, who may be ordered by the court to undergo psychiatric evaluation, has not been given a court date.
ABC Action News reports that the man recently lost his father and brothers to murders. It also cites an SPCA spokesman as saying that Davis had seen the cat in his yard and did not like it.
Sticky remains with the SPCA because no one has been able to prove that they are her rightful owners. She now faces a duct-tape-free future, as the SPCA is reviewing nearly 100 inquiries from people interested in adopting her.

oy vey! seriously though, i’m glad they caught this sick and twisted individual. if someone did that to one of my dogs, i’m not sure what i would do to them.

What a senseless act. It would have been kinder to have just killed it outright, except for the fact someone found it and rescued it. She would have starved and died a slow painful death otherwise. Makes you want to duct tape that kid and leave him without food or water for about 2.5 days, see how he likes it.

I see the Roman Polanski Excuse is taking off already. Having murdered family members is apparently a valid excuse for committing violent abuse against others per the MSM.
Forget the psychological evaluations. This man is obviously a psycho and should be locked up for the safety of everyone.
