I'm actually posting this a little earlier than I normally do since I have an appointment to attend early on Thursday, but tonight we have a game oddly enough. If you can stomach the Worldwide Leader for 3 hours, check out Hawaii vs. Louisiana Tech. Anytime you can relax and check out a WAC football game, I hope you take full advantage.

One of those what could have been weekends if Cal and the U did not get annihilated the previous weekend. Flashback to the 80s with OK visiting the U but unfortunately the Orange Bowl is gone.

LOL, you can’t even find a picture for the Hurricanes without having to use a pic with the Dolphins.
I thoroughly expect the crowd at ‘The Shark’ to be 60-40 in favor of OU.

I wonder when the Boise State-UC Davis game was scheduled. You are Boise State trying to say you belong with the big boys. You are stuck in the WAC so your strength of schedule is weak and you are going to play a I-AA team, refuse to use the three letter acronymn. At least find a I-A team to play.

Ok. State gets a bye week. Hopefully after thumping Grambling State and having essentially 2 weeks to get everyone healed up they will remember that they are supposed to be a high powered offense. As opposed to whatever the hell it is they have been so far this season.
Good thing Houston won again. Do as much as possible to make OSU look better.

I've been a Rutgers season ticket holder for about 15 years now.
Me and my tailgate buddies road tripped down to Maryland last weekend to see the Knights collect a "W" against the Terps.
RU's not looking great this year, but the opening day blowout loss to Cincinnati is not looking so bad anymore. They're the real deal, it appears.
Hoping to play our way into a middle-of-the-road bowl this year. Our true freshman QB is going to develop into a bona fide player in a year or two. Better bowls (BCS) ahead.

He replied, "I think at this point in the year, people are just guessing. With everything that goes on during a season, your guess is as good as mine."
That's exactly correct! it is all guessing until they actually play!
There is also the school of thought that I happen to agree with that this should be the week to start off the AP and Coaches Polls and simply go through the first month of the season without polls at all.
Bingo!
But, leave it to ESPN analyst (and AP Voter) Kirk Herbstreit to mention something concerning that topic. His comment in ESPN's postgame commentary last Saturday went something like this: "you have to have something to base all of this from. If we didn't have polls for the first month of the year, who would we rank?"
No one Herbie until they play!
I want to thank everyone for the kind remarks about last weeks FWIW Top Ten. It's inspired me to carry on! Texas still holds the top spot and the Big 12 with three in the top ten. Followed by the Big Ten and SEC with two.
1.Texas
2.LSU
3.Oregon
4.Iowa
5.Michigan
6.Virginia Tech
7.Kansas
8.Florida
9.Cincinnati
10.Nebraska

the Trojans might climb back into the national title hunt if they keep winning As a Trojan fan, as well as one looking forward to attending the game, three things would have to happen for USC to have any consideration for the national title:
1) Losses by Florida and Texas.
2) No further losses by USC.
3) No further losses by Washington.
Bottom line is, it ain't gonna happen.
Best USC can do this year is Pac-10 Champ, which may be a tough nut to crack with Cal coming off of a humiliation, they will be out for blood.
Right now USC may be ranked higher then they should be, but that may be because people are assuming that Washington is better then they thought, which they probably are, but another loss by them and it makes USC look worse for losing to them.

An interesting story about Ohio State & Indiana in football (I hope my facts are right here). In Woody Hayes first season he lost to Indiana and he was so mad that he swore he would never lose to Indiana ever again. And he never did. Then I believe it was 1987 that Indiana beat Ohio State in Columbus and OSU coach Earle Bruce declared it to be the "darkest day in Ohio State football history". Of course the next year in 1988 OSU lost again to IU in Bloomington and some IU fans had a sign that said Darkest Day Part 2.
I think Washington plays Notre Dame either this weekend or next and some think this will be a battle to see who will be the first QB to be picked in the 2010 NFL draft.
