Tina Fey ready to bring Sarah Palin impersonation out of retirement for Palin's book, 'Going Rogue'
NY Daily News ^ | October 7, 2009 | Jim Farber

Posted on 10/07/2009 8:33:38 PM PDT by yongin

Good satire never dies.

While months ago comedian Tina Fey vowed to deep six her celebrated Sarah Palin impersonation, now she says it's likely bound for a resurrection.

The Palin wig will soon will soon have to "come out of the closet," she vowed to Harper's Bazaar.

The hook? The soon-to-come publication of Palin's quickly written autobiography "Going Rogue."

Fey also talked to the fashion magazine about her own famous glasses. She insists she doesn't sport the signature specs all the time. "I don't wear them when I am dressed up, because then I would look like Tootsie," the Emmy-winning "30 Rock" creator and star commented.

In fact, Fey said her "30 Rock" character Liz Lemon might soon "start taking her glasses off more and more," to seem sexier.

Fey said her life closely resembles that of Lemon. "Work, come home, play, kid bounce, work again, go to bed," she chronicles. Fey says she often writes "30 Rock" on the way to the studio and is so tired that "sometimes I'll be telling my husband [composer Jeff Richmond], 'I think I'm cracking up.' "

The interview is the cover story in November's Bazaar.

I will be looking forward to Wolf Blitzer and CNN’s Fact Check segment on Fey’s portrayal of Sarah.

Up yours, Tina Fey. Sarah Palin is a good person.
You Tina, are not.

Oh by the way, Tina, how’s that hope and change working out for the country? Not so good, huh?

Fey’s most famous and overplayed Palin dig was saying “I can see Russia from my house” which Palin never said. CNN fact check?

I had to guess how SNL would spoof Palin this time, I would say the skit will mock Palin’s decision to resign as AK Governor and hiring to a “ghost writer” to write the book (Sarah doesn’t read according to Couric).

The commie piggies just won’t let it go. Governor Palin is still a threat to them. Fey is a pig.

Good idea, Tina, I’m sure Sarah welcomes the publicity as the audience may decide to do a little fact checking of their own and buy the book.

Good. The dems are losing all contrived capital they created while Bush was in office. Obama’s lame ass is the target now. NBC can follow him down if they so desire.

Yup.
Fey is as relevant as last year's beer left in an open glass after drinking half of it. She is stale, rancid, unfit for consumption, and the only place she belongs is to be dumped into the sewer.

America will have to choose between Tina Fey and Sarah Palin like Judaea had to choose between Christ and Barrabas.

Agreed....it’s not funny anymore. And if that’s all she’s got that is unique she’s not a very competent comedienne.

The media is sure wants to give Palin a “warm welcome back” to the public spotlight.

Well at least, the attention to Palin’s book will make it one of the biggest bestsellers.

Is Tina Fey capable of reading a book?

Or will she just regurgitate the lines her uber-liberal script writer types into the teleprompter? (ala Obama)

First off, all this attention can only help to sell even more books and raw even more interest, so that’s a good thing.

I’m hoping that if NBC’s ratings continue on the track they’re on, someone at the network will realize that only 4 yrs of Tina Fey playing the President will be the only show that makes them any money and they’ll jump on board in a couple of years after they discover that no one tunes in to watch Fred Armisen, nothing personal against him or anything.

In fact, if SNL were to ask a certain someone to host the show around mid-November they’d probably get their highest ratings ever. It’d be a good idea.

The irony with Fey is that way more people watched her as Gov Palin than ever her watched her own show 30 Rock which is mired near the bottom of the ratings.

I just have a little tinge of happiness knowing that Tina knows deep down that on her own she never would have become this famous and it was only Gov Palin that brought her to where she is now. It must gnaw at her.

But few things would make me happier than to see Tina Fey on TV every Saturday night starting in 2013. I hope it happens.

Big stars have their own brand, therefore, they don’t need to impersonate people who are greater than they are.
Obviously, Fey is not a bright star and not even an actor...
What a pathetic existence she has!

In otherwords, no one cares about her except when she plays Sarah so to generate some buzz in herself she’s willing to do so again.

Do it!

First they are both HOT!

Second, it raises Sarah’s profile

Third, it raises Tina’s profile.

Hot women on profile are fine by me.

Cue the YouTube parodies of Fey attempting to lampoon Palin . . . or for that matter parodies of Fey in whatever sitcom show I’ve heard she’s in (but of course have never seen, not having watched a sitcom since . . . the Drew Carey Show, maybe?)
