EDWARDS AFB - More than 100,000 people streamed into Edwards Air Force Base Saturday to join in a celebration of aviation and flight test history during Flight Test Nation 2009, the base's open house and air show.

The F-22 Raptor demonstration was simply jaw dropping. Maybe somebody can explain to me why orders for this amazing plane are being cancelled?
Because the president and his administration hate their country.

So we can’t defend ourselves when the UN army invades?
I went to an airshow at Oceana NAS in Virginia Beach, VA this weekend. Crappy weather causing some demonstrations epecially the naval aviation flyover, including a mock bombing run. But to hear the roar of the afterburners on the F-15 Strike Eagle and Super Hornet was worth it.
meant to write causing cancallation.
American ingenuity and dedication is amazing, to bad the morons in Washignton can’t see it! We are great and let no one tell us we are not!
C’mon out to the the Edwards show if you ever get the chance. Weather is usually clear and hot.
We only were there once when the show was canclled and that was for high winds. (Be warned though - traffic is unbelivably bad!)
I lived out in CA for 10 years before moving back East. Driven by Edwards on my way to Las Vegas but never got a chance to see the show. I did go to an airshow at Travis in Fairfield, CA. Very good show although it seems they really put on a show at Edwards including General Yeager breaking the sound barrier. As a side note, did he break his own record for the oldest man to pilot a craft breaking the barrier?
I don’t know. The next article sure makes it sound like he did but he is getting pretty old to be flying jets?
Saw him at the air show about twelve years ago being escorted through the crowd by two airmen (one armed with a rifle and one with a shotgun.) Lifted up little Ben Junior so he could see — he claims he still remembers.
It took hours to get out of the parking lot. Perhaps they could do something about that in the future. My daughter can’t stop talking about the Raptors.
It was ridiculous. My suggestion is that they charge $5- a car and use the money to hire a professional outfit for managing the traffic.
