My nephew works at a gas station.
He has a wife and two kids.
He has in the past 5 years,got WIC, got Section 8, food stamps and medicaid.
He also has, a 72 inch tv, a Wii, an Xbox, a DVD player, a desktop and laptop. The live in a fantastic suburb of Cleveland. The wife doesn’t work and the kids get free breakfast and lunch.
What makes you think your standard of living will drop?
I used to be more angry about this a couple of months ago until I researched it further. They get 10 minutes a month and then have to pay for additional minute blocks. I think this is a clever way to get more cell phone customers. The phones suck also - you could buy one for less than $20 bucks and start adding Tracphone minutes yourself.
The amount of minutes vary state to state. In Georgia, where I live, the free cell phone recipients get 68 minutes a month.
FYI - my mother purchased a prepaid cell phone because she could not afford a monthly plan. So why should she have to scrimp and sacrifice so that some government leech gets a phone and more free minutes than my widowed mother can afford?
I am SICK AND TIRED and FED UP with giving all these goodies to the “poor.” I don’t have a problem with helping the needy but cell phones? iPod touches in Minnesota? And who knows what that I’m not even aware of in other places?
When they all get brain cancer who will they blame?
I’m sure the free, GIANT, HD flat screens and HD cable are just a couple of votes away from becoming a reality.
The democrat party is all about leeches. Useless deadbeats that won't lift a finger to actually produce anything, but are paid generously with our taxpayer money solely for their role in voting (a time or two) to keep the 'rats in power. Because power is what the democrats (and some republicans) crave.

Here in Florida it is 68 minutes per month. When I got upset over the amount of money I was paying for cell phone service for me and two kids I went shopping for new service. The kids now have Net-10 service. The phones are very similar to the safelink ones and cost $30 which includes 4 months service and 600 minutes or $7.50 per month with 150 minutes each month. If (ha-ha)the government shopped carefully then the phone and the 68 minutes should cost $3.40 per month. Maybe one in ten will get a job because they now have a phone. This is all paid for by those universal access taxes that they put on your cell and landline bill. There is also a program for cheap landline phone service.

That's what the democrat politicians do. They take from the productive right wing and give to the unproductive left wing. That's ALL they do. (People are dieing in Afghanistan, and Oboma goes golfing.)
The useless Republican politicians just sit back and watch it all. That's why they rarely get elected. (Sometimes they get lucky and the majority comes out to vote against the democrat.)
The tax payers have no representation. Most have become politically apathetic because of it. They don't vote at all. There's no one to vote for.
